When she retired, I wondered how long it'd be before she got back into the cage. All that adulation, especially the amount that she received, is hard to give up. She seems to have adjusted well to her retirement, and now I wonder if she will ever come back. Although nearly 30, she could still have a relatively long and prosperous MMA career if she so desired. Unfortunately, if she came back to ONE, it wouldn't be the same ONE she left.

I'm genuinely surprised her retirement stuck... I assumed it was grief-related and she'd get that itch to come back. That she's definitely retired is kind of nice to see in this era of MMA retirements just meaning you're either broke or you need six months away from the gym.

People process grief differently... and maybe once she stopped training to be a fighter and was just a person that she realized she didn't need it. Fighters come back because they historically can't let go of being out there, etc... and she doesn't. Good for her.

imagine retiring in your 20's. is she really gonna make that much money living off of coaching to maintain her quality of life?

Her family is loaded; she wouldn't even need to coach to have a good life. Plus, ONE has looked after her very well throughout her career.

So incredibly tragic what happened to Victoria. I hope she and her brothers can find peace with it someday.
