I’m saying he’s included because he’s a symbol of patriotism. Give up a fat NFL paycheck, give up playing in a league he’s been dreaming of and training for since he was a kid, to join the army after 9/11.
My understanding was he joined because his brother was being deployed. Famously wouldn't give his opinion on politics/terrorism/or if he thought the Bush wars were a good idea.
True patriotism is going overseas to fight in a war for oil predicated on a lie about weapons of mass destruction to just die and have your death covered up by the military?
