Iโm Canadian, and I love both America and Canada.
I do hate our laws though. Canโt even legally defend yourself in Canada. Thatโs not a joke.
But seriously, would never want to live anywhere other than these two countries.
-2 u/Valuable-Shallot-927 17d ago Who told you you can't defend yourself in Canada? That's completely untrue. You can't shoot somebody for turning around in your driveway. But of course you can defend yourself. 2 u/Educational-Year3146 fuck yeah 17d ago We do not have a law that permits killing someone in self defence. If you want to prove me wrong, show me. 0 u/Valuable-Shallot-927 17d ago Not many states do either. In Canada the law says the force must be reasonable and proportional. It's up to a jury to decide whether that is true or not. Juries make these decision in Canada. 1 u/Fragrant-Phone-41 17d ago I'm sorry, but shooting people is usually proportional because you just can't know their intentions or what they're packing 1 u/Valuable-Shallot-927 17d ago Well we have jury trials in Canada (and in the United States) so its usually up to the jury to decide that. But Canadian juries often agree with killing in self defense. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Colten_Boushie
