Suburbs

Post image

I can never get over how American suburbs look like. Every time I walk through one I wonder why they cant be accomplished more around the world. The yards, the safe feeling, and the homes. (I think Chile tried to replicate a bit) I just think it’s one of the beauties America has.

FWIW This is what mid sized cities and first ring suburbs typically look like.

When you hear complaints about suburbs often times they are referring to cul-de-sac based neighborhoods. Generally found in outer ring suburbs.

Yeah. I was gonna say, suburb!? This is how my inner city neighborhood looks more or less. I’m in the middle of Portland.

Only differences is that we have alleys and most of the garages are detached and in the back here in Minneapolis

Nearly moved there in 2020. Mostly looked around Uptown, South uptown, Linden Hills, around those areas but so many of my coworkers kept suggesting Edina and Wayzata and they just didn’t vibe with me.

Many parts of Edina have this vibe fwiw. Not much different between south mpls/linden hills and parts of Edina

Ah. It seems a bit suburban when I was looking. Either way, just ended up buying another home here.

But yeah, plenty of city neighborhoods look like this photo.
