My only thing is in mafia 3 there’s no way that Joe doesn’t know that Vito is alive. Especially if you gave all the districts to him. Even though Joe is just a driver I’m sure he does more than just driving Leo around.
The only way to know would be a real Mafia 4 which would either be centered on that or in any case on the rise of Leo after Mafia 2 or direct references. But for the moment we remain in the dark, it's frustrating
I don’t think there was a ‘rise of Leo after Mafia 2’ as I think he was already at the top. It would be good maybe for a post Mafia:TOC on the rise of Leo but I’m not convinced it would make a great story.
I admit I may have expressed myself badly, I mainly wanted to say centered on this period, and he was at the top yes and no there were assassinations sponsored against him he had to fall back to better come back after the events of mafia 2
a lot of things changed after the Second World War or even the Cold War must have had consequences on business.
We don't see all that in Mafia 3 because Lincoln is not part of this world, he makes it his own.
Whatever happens, I consider that there should be a real conclusion to the story of Vito and Joe, whether it is through a final adventure or suggested by the text (this would be the most logical given that they have aged).
