Going insane with my oil drain plug
So I'm trying to change my oil for the first time on my own, I have all the tools I need and everything, but the socket wrench i have is just too big to squeeze into that small gap
On top of that, the drain plug is extremely overtightened and I dont really know what to do by this point Ive tried using a flatter normal wrench but it just will not budge at all
I was trying to so this on my own with the whole point being to not have to go to the autoshop for this, but is that really my only option at the moment?
This is a 2012 Chevy impala btw

Dead Car. New Problem
I went to the dealership to get my oil changed the other day, and to get a recall checked on my rear view camera. While I was there they have given me a loaner car to drive, and after 6 hours of waiting. The time had finally come. Im with my parent at the time during this incident. Im 20 y/o. After we get all the paper work and confirming the job was done. We got in the car, and not even halfway down the road. The oil light comes on. I immediately pulled over, and popped my hood. There was the problem right infront of me. My engine begun to smoke, I checked the oil and they forgot to even put any in! Are you for real right now?! They let me leave bone dry without any oil in the damn thing.
Immediately I had called the dealership people and told them to send someone over, explained the situation. Within 15 minutes they had come. The mechanic decided to put oil in the car finally as their cover up. They hopped in my car and tried to start my car. Then there, low and behold. The death sound. The engine locked up, seized. Whatever have you call it, I'm just a girl🤣. They towed the car back to the dealership, and mind you it's a used car. I gotta go to collage and work with this thing.
I documented everything. Voice recorded everything. As well as, wrote down on a peace of paper that they are responsible for whoever damaged and locked up the engine. Made the manager sign it.
Now what should I do? Sue?

Is it worth it for $300
Would this be something worth buying for 300 and trying to fix? I don’t know anything about this car I already have a car. I’m just curious because it’s only 300. And if it’s something that could be fixed, I wouldn’t mind having an extra car.

Is this from my car or something I picked up driving down the dirt road?
Im driving a rusty old 2003 Oldsmobile Alero that hasn’t let me down until today. This morning on my commute, I took a dirt road before getting back onto pavement. As soon as I started braking, I heard a loud clunking sound that got faster the harder I pressed the brakes. It wasn’t making that noise earlier when I got off the highway, so I’m wondering if I might’ve picked something up on the dirt road.
I took a look underneath and noticed a wire hanging down definitely wasn’t there when I replaced the brakes a few weeks ago. Has anyone experienced something similar? Could that wire be related to the ABS or something else brake-related?

Is this rusty or oil?
Install a new raditor a couple of months ago with new coolant. No overheating or anything. What's this?

is this supposed to be connected?
looks like its cut. or separated somehow. im asking because my crown vics brake lights are all out and after i checked the fuse the internet told me to check battery connection & this is above my understanding if this connection could be the culprit

Leaking LBZ Head Gasket?
I have an 07 Chevy 2500HD with a 6.6l Duramax
I need to get some help with this coolant issue. I keep leaking coolant out the passenger side of the engine down the trans.
I’m afraid it’s the head gasket Oil looks fine and blackish, no strawberry milkshake color
I took multiple vids of with it on and off People say it can be leaking from like a blocker plate but I don’t see that. Seems like it’s just peeing out the side.
I can’t find the leak on top of the engine, I just replaced the turbo coolant line and I checked that to make sure it wasn’t it

Weird oily stains on windows?
I wouldn't really say this is a mechanic issue but I can't think of a better sub to post in.
Anyone know how to fix this (short of replacing the window)? Not sure what caused it. I thought maybe it was from a roof rack, but there's no sign of one ever being installed.
There's also some scratching (looks like they tried to scuff it with sandpaper)

do these look like 4 month old brakes + calipers?
2010 ford fusion - got my brakes, rotors, and calipers changed kinda in an emergency situation IN MAY 2025 on my way back home from a long drive and stopped at the only mavis that was open in a 30 mile radius bc it was sunday. charged me like $1200… whatever. few months later, i hear light squealing when i come to the end of a stop, usually on flat ground but it’s kinda random. so i took it to a mavis where i live now to check on it and they’re saying that it doesn’t even look like they replaced everything at the other location. they said the calipers are sticking and that the brakes look way too worn down & recommend calling corporate to see if they can cover everything in full. just want input—do you think they’re being honest? do these look way too worn for being just a few months old? any advice appreciated 🫡

What is this rattling noise? Always happens below 1000rpm and completely disappears above 1200rpm at any gear. Honda Brio, Petrol, 2014 make, 62k run.
Please turn the volume up or listen with headphones. None of the mechanics I went to could identify the reason, and all of them are saying that it could be the timing chain. Surprisingly, I have driven around 3500km with this noise before going to the mechanic. There is no power loss or mileage loss observed.

Noise after brake change
I changed my rear brakes on the CX5, and after driving about 40kms, a noise around the rear wheel started. Just on the one side as far as I can tell.
Im going back the mechanic shortly but want to have an idea as to the potential source of the noise. Thanks.

2010 Lexus RX 350 making rattling noise from hood.
I notice a metal rattling noise coming from the hood. Putting a piece of cardboard fixed the issue. What can I do permanently and get rid of the cardboard? I believe there are supposed to be things that raise up with rubber that are under the hood, but they don't raise high enough or are missing.

Turn signal issue
Hello and thanks for taking the time to read this. I have a 2002 Chevy Express van that has a blinker issue.
When the headlights are on, and I turn on the right turn signal, the front left turn signal also blinks.
I think this is probably a ground or bleed over issue and I've done about as much chasing as I can think to do: checked all the ground connections I can find, replaced bulbs and fuses, wiggled all connectors, etc.
I'm now assuming there is a frayed wire somewhere in the miles of wrapped harnesses. Is there a way to isolate where it might be? It's driving me batty...
Not sure if this is related, but the headlights are also pretty dim, especially when compared to modern vehicles, but even when I'm just driving without other traffic.
I'm going to try to replace the flasher today, but I don't have much optimism that it will be the cause.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can give me.

Can someone please help me identify what's causing this noise?
Hi! I have a 2009 kia Sorento 3.3L. There was a weird grinding/squealing/thumping noise that started about 3 weeks ago and I at first thought it was the front so I changed the pads but turned out it was the rear driverside. I was told it was the caliper seizing so i replaced it last night and the noise stopped. I took it for a 20 minute drive last night and drove it this morning from 8:15 am to 11:30 with no noise or anything then all of a sudden the noise came back but it sounds more like loud thumping when driving and squealing when stopping. Can anyone please help me figure out what is going on?? (If I can comment a video of what it sounded like before the caliper was replaced, I will)

Tesla model 3
Hey so I ran over a dip around 15mph, and hit the bottom of my front right. Any idea if it’s just the cover or more serious.

What is this silver residue on fuel injectors?
I have a 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5s with a p0171 lean code. I narrowed the issue down to what seems to be a fuel delivery problem so I decided to check for clogged fuel injectors. Upon removing, I noticed this silver goop around the tips of all of the injectors. What could this stuff be and could this stuff be clogging the injectors causing the lean code?
