So republicans are instituting death panels, popular in private insurance, to Medicare? That won’t cause undo harm (this is sarcasm)

The very same “death panels” they screamed about @ the tippy top of their lungs about when the ACA was first being discussed and passed back in 09’/10’. Completely ridiculous!!

More of this shit? Great. I can't wait for somebody to tell me I can't have something a fucking doctor said that I need TO LIVE! Maybe they should check with somebody at United Healthcare first, ffs!

want the nazi's first program targeting disabled and elderly for euthanasia?
it's like they are saying "it's not active genocide if we just keep you from getting things you need to live and you die on your own"

Exactly my thought. Get rid of the poor, homeless, sick, pretty much anyone not paying taxes. They don’t need them anymore.

So your solution is to trust doctors (who get paid more for doing more procedures) to be the sole arbiters of whether or not a procedure needs to be done? If you want the public to pay for something you have to accept some level of oversight.

This isn’t what my wife and I are paying for. We’ve heard the horror stories involving for profit insurance and its been proven people have died unnecessarily while fighting with them.

So many children with cancer and rare diseases/conditions have lost their lives due to this already. If it isn’t getting fixed for them, I don’t see it getting fixed for the rest of us.

Smells like Trump's "Take Everything Away from Citizens" goals.
In short: outside companies using AI will be incentivized to deny coverage to Medicare members for certain procedures. It is a set-up, pure and simple. They more they deny the more they make.
If sanity is ever brought back to the US, this will go away.

We are doomed:
“The A.I. companies selected to oversee the program would have a strong financial incentive to deny claims. Medicare plans to pay them a share of the savings generated from rejections.”
Glad i got my surgery over before the buffoon got into office. JFC! Hope i don’t need anything done in the future… I’ll have to drive my car off a cliff and if i survive i might get medical care. Problem: no cliffs in Texas.

Why you have to win at all costs in America. Because then you get a party that supports denying healthcare to Americans, among other atrocities.

All I can say is that if you are older, or elderly, I hope you don't get sick or need medical treatment that is on this list. If you don't, you will at least have a chance at survival in older age.

How will Medicare for all work when Medicare for some is already broke?

By removing all American-hating Republicans from office.

u/brinerbear 6d ago
It has nothing to do with that. The debt is 37 trillion with 100 trillion in unfunded liabilities. That was a bipartisanship effort. So how will it work in this environment?
2
u/welcome_universe 6d ago
"This was a bipartisan effort"
Who systemically fought the ACA?
1
u/brinerbear 6d ago
It doesn't matter that is a separate topic. Both parties drove up the debt. There hasn't been a budget surplus since the Republican Congress worked together with a Democrat president. And as far as the ACA it isn't affordable and it didn't lower costs or offer more options.
But the debt levels were absolutely a bipartisanship effort.

The Republicans directly caused this situation through obstruction and legislation.
Debt is more nuanced and is impacted by more than just healthcare, e.g. home loans, credit cards, business loans. You cannot pretend it's just healthcare nor pretend it's just both parties without nuance 😂
ACA isn't affordable because the GOP obstructed Democrat legislation that would improve costs. That's direct cause and effect you can attribute to them. It didn't lower costs because of who voted against its progress. They are directly complicit.

It isn't affordable because it was designed to fail in hopes of bringing in single payer healthcare. But again 37 trillion in debt and 1 trillion just for interest. So how do you introduce Medicare for all in an environment where Medicare for some barely works? I honestly don't get it. And great you hate Republicans, I don't belong to a party but the math doesn't really care.

Designed to fail because of legislation impacted by...
There is blatantly blame to be given and in starts by removing those at fault. If you ignore the source of the issue, you'll never see a solution.
1
u/brinerbear 6d ago
It doesn't really matter because the math will make it fail and other programs too.

Virtually all insurance coverage requires prior authorization for certain procedures.
5
u/SpookyBookey 7d ago
Prior authorizations only exist to delay and deny care though lol. They just want to save money and deter you if they decide to give you a bunch of extra paperwork they feel your doctor and you need to fill out to prove you need anything when it should just be your doctor or specialists determination

And there is zero reason for those parasite companies to exist. They do not provide Healthcare. They operate as a parasite middleman denying healthcare while extracting wealth from workers who would prefer they and their families don't die.
