$150 for that video package. Thats crazy money. I know it'll be a lot of great info, but considering the studio notes are out there, and all the deep dives people have done over the years, can it really be worth that much?

Is it worth it depends on the person, but I bought it last year and it was totally worth it for me. I’m a musician, but also an audio engineer so it’s cool to see Flemming recreate the 3 albums with his original notes but majority from memory. The end result was surprisingly close, except for AJFA which all of what went sideways was during the mixing process, which he was not involved in. There were a few Q/A sessions with Flemming so I got to ask his quite a few questions too.

No idea how other commenters are saying people would buy this to get out of practice. How is that even related?

I’ve been thinking about purchasing the course. Honestly, I mostly just want the impulse responses. Have you tried them?

Yes I have tried them quite a bit. If I remember correctly, there’s for each album: all mics raw, sm57 raw, sm57 with board eq, all mics with trident eq, all mics with neve eq, and then a 2nd of each for subtle differences. Honestly though, maybe it’s just my experience, but the IR’s sound very boomy and like they are clipping the low end. I messaged Tonegodz so they could be aware, but it’s likely too late to do anything about it, if there is in-fact a problem. Listening to their final mix sounds fantastic, so not sure what happened with the IRs.

There are also one-shot samples of the Superstar kit used to record RTL and MOP (and the kicks on AJFA).

Honestly though, if you’re into recording and wanting to understand what goes into making a good album, it’s worth getting it. The IRs and samples were an unexpected bonus.
