On August 20, the 18th World Theatre Festival opened at the Théâtre des Variétés, featuring a vibrant performance by a Cuban troupe. Organised by the Studio de Monaco, the event is the world’s largest gathering of amateur theatre, with 18 countries from five continents represented.
On the water, Monaco’s Black Jack crew made headlines by setting a new race record in the Palermo–Monte-Carlo regatta. Crossing the finish line just before 3:00 in the morning on Thursday, August 21, they shaved over five hours off their previous best.
Cycling fans turned their attention to Turin on August 23 for the 80th Vuelta a España, where Monaco played a prominent role. His Serene Highness Prince Albert II attended the Grand Départ, further cementing the Principality’s growing presence in the cycling world ahead of hosting the race in 2026.
Back home, record numbers are visiting the Prince’s Car Collection, with over 2,000 guests per day admiring the remarkable lineup of historic and rare vehicles. Meanwhile, at the Grimaldi Forum, the Colours exhibition, created in collaboration with the Centre Pompidou to mark the venue’s 25th anniversary, has attracted more than 60,000 visitors since its opening, making it one of Monaco’s standout cultural highlights this summer.
