What would you like to see on a biker-centric campsite?

I am hoping to build a campsite focussed around motocamping/bikers. We live in an area of the Balkans that sees 1000s of bikers passing through each year on their overland travels.

What do I mean by biker-centric? The topography of our land does not allow for caravans and campers (besides there's enough of those already). I would like to specifically focus on the needs of bikers, though others welcome. The camp is close to major routes and attractions whilst being surrounded by hills, forests, streams and meadows.

My ideas so far: * Individual and group pitches for tents and bikes * Showers, toilets, sinks, washing machines and clothes dryers. * Cooking facilities: microwaves, hobs - pots & pans available. * Communal covered eating/hangout area. * Communal bunk space: 4-8 bunks for those without tents or want a night on a proper mattress. * Hammock pitches. * Outdoor communal fire pit with grill (BBQ). * Bike cleaning and maintenance facilities: jetwash, air, oils and access to tools. * Charging for electric bikes. * Lockers and secure parking if using for base camp or want to go hiking (we back on to a national park). * Relaxed rules around noise depending on other guests (we don't have neighbours). * Alcohol and basic foods available for purchase.

What else might you want to see at a campsite focused on bikers or just in general? and please critique the list above.

Please also feel free to comment on what an attractive and reasonable price structure might look like. We would obviously charge for extras but also want a simple and structured way of charging. I'm not asking for specific prices... more like "I would expect this, this and this included in a base fee"

Please think about the little things. eg Lighting? Power at tent? Little extras that would just make life easier.

And whilst we are surrounded by nature, the semi-main road is only around 500m away as the crow flies. So there is some road noise.. how much of an issue would this be for people?

I appreciate your input.

1500 miles to and from lake Ontario, caught some epic salmon and nearly made it back to Down East Maine before finding this in the road. Blew my rear tire a mile from the making it back home.

Hi! I'm a motorcamper from South Korea I joined reddit because I was wondering what tents other countries recommend!

I'm looking for a tent in military camouflage or olive green color, could you please let me know?

We want it to be affordable and available for all seasons.

Recently my dad and I went on a camping trip through northern France. I carried approximately 60L and 12kg of kit.

I always see guys packing bags upon bags, this is all I bring.

  • Down sleeping bag, inflatable pillow and sleeping pad
  • Tent
  • Camp seat, which I didn't use so might leave at home later
  • No cookware, we eat with the camping hosts
  • First aid and stop the bleed trauma kit
  • First aid for the bikes
  • Three changes of clothes, wash at camp
  • Toiletries
  • Warm layer
  • Waterproof layer
  • Insta 360, batteries, powerbanks, cables
  • Food for lunch on the go and some electrolyte sportsdrinks
  • Bushcraft knife

Keeps the handling of the bike nearly the same as without any kit, and is plenty to be comfortable on a campsite or even when wildcamping.

I usually ditch one of the side bags at the camp and mount one as a soft topbox.

First time using the kriega bags and they're awesome. They're kind of difficult to attach the loops to the subframe but once you do it they can stay there for as long as you want. Did a 9 hour drive and they did not move at all. They're quite expensive but in my opinion totally worth it.

Anything obvious that I've forgotten for my first 1 night trip - UK

Click on the picture to view it all

So my plan is the following: - Do my days riding, lunch stop etc - Arrive at site, tent up etc - Eat out or have something delivered (no cooking equipment required) - Have a shower - Relax for the evening - Wake up, pack up - Find some breakfast - Start return journey, lunch stop etc

Obviously I'll have my phone, wallet, helmet, riding gear etc for the weather. I'll also take my alarmed disc lock for security.

Providing this goes well I'll plan a 2 night trip and see what gear I would like to purchase.

Not too bad of a trip, considering I only had a milk crate. Even managed to pack some tackle, a fishing rod and a book! Quite relaxing!

A few photos from recent trips and my setup

Here’s my 2007 Yamaha fz6 s2, it’s been my daily for a year and a half so far. It’s done trackdays, commuting, and lately it’s been doing some motocamping, and Im hooked. No longer do I have to try get to a location I want to ride, spend time there and ride back in a day. The setup is a cheap 30L Oxford bag, 4 rokstraps to hold it to the rear pegs, a givi st611 tankbag for often used essentials, a vango Orion 200 2 man tent, highlander serenity 350 bag, cheap sleep mat (next upgrade). Sea to summit pillow, and extra misc. the 30L bag is “enough” but I would advise anyone to go to the 45L for the slight extra in price. Hope to post more stuff soon. Also yeah, the cap stays put behind the strap

Noob Food Storage Question

Howdy!

I'm planning my first 3-4 day moto camping trip and am wondering if there's any relatively easy solution for bringing meant, eggs, etc. I'm looking at AO Cooler and others, and assuming I could add ice - I'm just not sure if I'm crazy to think that's actually a reliable solution for things like meat, etc.

Where I'm headed won't be that warm...definitely chilly at night and I'll be next to a lake.

Any off the shelf or creative solutions are appreciated!

Starter wants to start motorcycle camping

Hey you all,

I have a question for you all. I have never been motorcycle camping in my life. Have only been a long distance hotel driver. Now I am doing research online and I am completly losing my way in all the different and apposing advices. What I really want is advice from people who are just like me. Like to drive and not make a video about it.

What would you guys advice for a tent/Hammink. I was looking at the goos but that was apperently a big nope so now I have found the Big agnes blacktail 2 hotel. I hear only positive notes about that one. Do you guys have advice about good tents or if better hamminks?

What are real essentials to bring along while moto camping? What did you miss when you went for the first time?
I will be traveling from my home country (Netherlands) to the east (italie, croatia, poland) if that will make a difference in advice.

Really want to hear all advice you guys can give me how small or big it can be. :D

I would like to thank you in advance for reading my post and specially if you can advice me.
