👨🚀 Prop/Costume In Under the Silver Lake (2018), after seeing the “BEWARE THE DOG KILLER” graffiti, we see a man wearing a shirt with a series of animals. The first letter of each animal is as follows ; BWAR DOG KILR.

There is so many great little details in this movie, one of the best for Easter eggs.

this movie feels like a conspiracy got blackout drunk, wandered into a David Lynch set, and woke up wearing a bathrobe made of QR codes. i don’t know what happened, but i respect the journey

The wikipedia summary sounds like Nick and Norah if it did all the drugs and was set in LA.

This film is just fantastic. A wildly different artistic vision from It Follows, which is equally fantastic in a wholly different way. Shows the range Mitchell has as a director.

I didn’t realize this was the follow up to It Follows. I’ve heard of Under the Silver Lake, and usually I click through the director/writer history to see what else they’ve done, but I haven’t looked into this one at all. Wish I had! Now I’ll def put this on my watch list. I really enjoyed It Follows, and I love to see a director/writer who is creative try something different

Terrific film, loaded with symbols, Easter eggs and other tidbits from literally the first seconds (the four flashing symbols at the opening, timed to the four opening musical notes--i.e., 'U - T - S - L' !)

Wowowow this is wildly amazing. I have read up on the threads here for details and eastereggs like this, love the movie... can anyone direct me to a comprehensive minute by minute rundown on everything? If that exists...

Best Little Horror House in Philly has a great podcast episode discussing and theorizing about this movies. One of my favourite neo noirs

Whoah. That’s some Kubrick stuff there.

The whole movie is a puzzlebox and littered with codes. Gps coordinates all kinds of stuff. People are still trying to crack some of that stuff

I saw this, appreciated it, and then came back to give it the upvote it deserves. Great job OP!

That is both a fascinating tidbit and also a wonderful indicator of someone spending more time with Easter eggs than trying to make a good movie.

God I fucking hated this film. Quite possibly the worst movie I've ever seen in so far as the entire thing is completely pointless.
It's sets up everything to go nowhere and do nothing.
Yes I get that's the point. It's an awful point though.
I went into it with such high hopes after a glowing recommendation.
Sure plenty of effort went into hiding secrets, codes and more but it just an infuriating experience.

I find it ironic you didn't like it because you just wanted it all to mean something.
Why is it an awful point? Our world today is literally filled with people huffing on conspiracy theories that are not real.

Oh you're 100% correct and this is entirely a me problem. I am also in the minority I think.
The whole film is about them trying to find patterns and links where there are none.
I think it was originally sold to me as a big conspiracy film with a great twisty plot which it absolutely isn't. So I went in with a very different idea to what it is.
Unfortunately that kinda ruined it all and the film just makes me mad now lol

I was sold when right after the mc is going on about he is going to find patterns in everything, he starts looking at girls butts
