There needs to be a big shame list of these AI “acts”. That way at the least I can find them on Spotify and then just block playing music from them. That option at least exists for the moment until they take that away.

While I was very wary of getting involved with the robot at the outset of my and my hobby partner's experiment, I feel no shame. I'm actually very proud of what we accomplished over the past year or so. The robot helped me improve my lyrics writing skills, and now there are some 70 Real Fake Songs I've written words for. I'll never be as great as my heroes, but if it wasn't for the robot, I would've died not knowing I was pretty good at it.

That said, we also have pretty much zero financial motivations, and the only reason our stuff is on Spotify is so we can listen to it in the car without having to skip commercials in between. I mean, I have a pipe dream about getting a dozen or so artists to record real versions of some of them and maybe do a "Humans vs. Robots" type of release to benefit youth music programs or something, but I just don't have the connections or organizational skills to make that happen But even that wouldn't be about me making money off it, and I am in no way defending people who are looking to deceive for profit. Fuck those guys.
