Spotify is a horrible, right-wing company. Zero concern for people or art/artists. It is ALL about making money.

Exactly

Guess the clue was always in the name: The goal is to sell as many advertising spots as possible between whatever media.

Spotify's CEO invested $700,000,000 into developing AI weapons systems for the government.

It doesn't get more right wing than helping the war machine kill scores of innocent people.

TIL Obama was right wing

Obama performed 10x+ more drone strikes than George W Bush, killing between 384 and 807 civilians.

https://www.thebureauinvestigates.com/stories/2017-01-17/obamas-covert-drone-war-in-numbers-ten-times-more-strikes-than-bush

His predecessor, George W Bush, started a war that killed 1 MILLION civilians, displaced 4.5 MILLION civilians, and created 5 MILLION orphans.

But sure, keep telling yourself whatever lies make you feel better.

Well, kind of yeah. The Overton window in the US is and has been for quite some time, considerably right of most western nations. The US doesn't really have a left wing party, they have a far-right party and a center-right that has some left leaning politicians in their tent.

You're only learning that today?

Such a smoothbrain take. But lets go back to pirateing songs again. Which is 100% what would happen if it were not for spotify and likes. Spotify’s margins on royalties are really small.

60,000 songs a day are posted. I’m pretty sure the artists are the enemy of artists lol

u/RickyNixon Jul 21 '25

Because artists looking to be successful have to have a Spotify presence because of its market share…. Dumb argument

Wha??? Why the down votes? I was joking. I’m sick of people blaming all these big companies as if there stopping them from their dreams. Or maybe Spotify goes out of business and they suddenly become popular. Spotify isn’t to blame. Music is way easy to record now. The barrier of entry to record a song you wrote is gone. If you want money then play hundreds of live shows and work on drawing your audience. If you think Spotify will make you famous? That’s bs

I litterally don't. What makes Spotify right wing in a way that is meaningfully different than any company existing under the current capitalist system.
