The officer explained the difficulties my case would face going to trial, it was all based on my testimony. Even if I had pressed charges, there was no guarantee the case would be pursued by the DA. I have to live with my choice, and in a way I still regret it. But I also don't know if I would have recovered from a trial and the extended trauma associated. My heart hurts for this young woman and I hope she finds a way forward.
I'm sorry for your ordeal, but feminism is pointless if it is not exercised in the most crucial moments. In the end:

You took the more selfish option, and so did she, and, if her accusation was proven to be real, rape victims are likely worse off as a whole...
Answer what? You didn't ask anything. Don't go around calling people selfish though, that's rude. She made what she felt was the best decision, and you can't prove it wasn't. You weren't there, you don't have all the facts.
