What Are Some of The Most Satisfying Losses You've Seen?

For me, KD airballing in game 7 vs Bucks in 2021 and Jimmy losing to Boston AND Denver in the Finals is fine with me. The look of disappointment on their faces gets me everytime.

The Heat losing to the Mavericks will always make me happy. I just loved how they were cocky the entire season really just acting like bullies and then making fun of Dirk in the finals was really the icing on the cake. So glad they got humbled.

Yup. The complete arrogance even before playing a single game was off-putting. I was annoyed when Duncan missed the layup in 2013 too. Heat losing 3 of 4 years would've been nice.

The whole season felt like villains getting beaten at the end of the movie lol. I loved it.

That heat team has been villains all season long, starting from the decision, to the introduction and all the way to them making fun of Dirk in the finals.

Not 1, not 2, not 3, etc

It really should've been Kobe and he'd have another 3peat. Unfortunately the Lakers were injured/tired. People give Dirk too much props when he got swept immediately the following year

People give Dirk too much props for winning a championship…?

u/jazzmaster4000 1d ago

Says the guy giving Kobe props because he “should have won” lmao. Stop glazing. He lost on merit and dirk got the ring. They don’t judge last season by what happened the following year.

So Dirk carried them yet got swept the following season in the 1st round. Yeah that don’t make a whole lot of sense

After Shaq left, the Lakers missed the playoffs in the 2004-05 season, finishing with a losing record. The first time they missed the playoffs in 11 years. Even the Nick Van Exel lakers made the playoffs.

Don’t make a whole lot of sense indeed. Even your god the mamba had problems. Dork

Don’t forget Kobe blew a 3-1 lead in 2006

u/Ok_Board9845 23h ago

Wasn’t his fault. Check the tape on game 6. Someone grabs the rebound and the series is over

u/Forsaken_Flight6188 Knicks 23h ago

He quit on them stop making excuses for your Black Mamba

1

u/Ok_Board9845 23h ago

Him quitting vs not quitting wouldn’t have affected the actual game result. Stop looking at optics

2

u/Forsaken_Flight6188 Knicks 23h ago

Obviously you’re emotionally attached to your Black Mamba nothing can change the fact that he refused to take a shot in the 4th quarter that’s called quitting

The Lakers best young player was Luke Walton. They had no depth. Not the same. If Kobe had Eddie Jones/Elden Campbell they make the playoffs

2

u/anonymoususer6407 23h ago

Had the chance to start the threepeat in 2008, the 2011 loss sealed that dream’s coffin

-1

u/Ok_Board9845 23h ago

Kobe was alone in 2008 bro. Pau was still soft. Bynum/Ariza were injured

2

u/CurrentRoster 23h ago

they still made it farther than in 2011, who guarantees they make it out west past the Thunder

1

u/Ok_Board9845 23h ago

The Thunder were still one year short. If the Lakers were healthy, they beat OKC and the Heat

KD losing in 2021 was lowk heartbreaking for me & neither is Jimmy

The most satisfying loss is by far Timberwolves getting their ass whooped in 2024 & 2025 for me

It's also up there w/ Kobe in 2011 looking at getting his ass whooped by Dirk

2

u/Ok_Board9845 23h ago

How is the Wolves getting whooped satisfying

1

u/Ellisevanelli Celtics 23h ago

Ant is too cocky after beating teams in the 1st/2nd round & then proceeds to get whipped in the WCF & dont say a word
Dude got absolutely cooked by the Mavs (A worse team) & then OKC (expected) & still act like he gon win everything

The only person I like on that squad was KAT & he got traded away so oh well

1

u/Ok_Board9845 23h ago

I must’ve missed where Ant was significantly cocky. Even in his interviews he’s given props to Lebron/Luka/KD/Jokic

0

u/Ellisevanelli Celtics 23h ago

I think that Ant 100% off the court gives his props to the people that came before him & KD is his favorite player too

The problem is his antics on the court I find to be rather cocky/arrogant & I think that's part of a mentality people should be taking in that for a superstar like Ant they should view themselves as 'best in the world' even if they aren't to the people who watch them- but then again it gets to a point for me

Celtics losing to the warriors a couple years ago. In Boston! All those disappointed Boston fans! And Steph going Steph. Not a warriors fan but that was real nice.

Can't really find satisfaction in seeing a team lose. It's a bit weird to me.

1

u/No-Drawer9926 23h ago

Me either. Probably because I don't really hold hate for any particular player. Team, yes, player no. I'm not the Schadenfreude type (not sure if I used that term correctly but it definitely applies.)

2

u/sxintlaurantsxvxge Spurs 1d ago

2021 nets, 2025 knicks (liked this team but wanted to see how angry knicks fans would’ve been lmao) 2019 warriors looool

1

u/WhasHappenin 23h ago

Was watching the warriors without KD and Klay lose actually that satisfying? Legit question.

3

u/Ok_Board9845 23h ago

People hated GSW so much they were willing to overlook those injuries at the time. Also that final game was really close. If it went to 7, GSW still had a chance to win it

These were 2 of my saddest watches excluding my teams losses

2004 Lakers.

Funny enough i was kid back then and really liked Kobe and Shaq and I went nuts after that Kobes clutch.

But looking back now adding Malone and Payton seemed unfair and at the time it didnt seem like only their names were left. But turned out it were lol.

2011 Lebron choke

Felt sorry for him for a bit and then his notorious press conference saying people cheering his loss are still losers tomorrow.

Game 6 2013. Game 7 2013. Game 7 2016.

2025 Knicks.

It was a long offseason after the 2024 playoffs enduring knicks fans talking about “well if we were healthy” and you know what, they were probably right. It was just so satisfying to see them come back almost completely healthy with a much more talented team and lose even faster than the year before.

Jayson Tatum this season. I'm not happy he's hurt, but I'm happy that the Celtics wont be serious contenders this year.
