Mod Weekly thread where you can call the music recognition bots without posting

To use the bots put u/RecognizeSong u/find-song with the link in your comment, like:

u/RecognizeSong u/find-song https://youtu.be/12345abcde

Notes:

  • The bots only work with a recording of the actual song, not a humming/recreation.
  • The sites that find-song works with: Reddit video posts (with a link or when summoned on the original post), YouTube, Vocaroo, Streamable, Twitch Clips (not VODs)
  • Some of the sites that RecognizeSong works with: Reddit video posts (when summoned on the original post or with an audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4), YouTube (though sometimes it doesn't work), Vocaroo, Streamable, Imgur, Twitch Clips (not VODs), Facebook, Twitter, Coub, Dropbox, Snapchat
  • For Reddit video posts there's also u/songfinderbot which only works if you summon it in a top-level comment on the original post
  • Some sites that RecognizeSong doesn't work with: Instagram, Twitch VODs, SoundCloud, Google Drive, Reddit text posts with embedded videos (though it does work with the audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4)
  • When needed, mention a timestamp or use a timestamped link if possible (the bots scan about 24-30 seconds of audio, starting at the timestamp)
  • If the song is from a meme or from TikTok then it might be listed in the FAQ
  • Note that you can also DM find-song a link (but not through chat)

Good luck with your search, and if you find the bots useful please consider supporting them: RecognizeSong through Patreon, find-song through Ko-fi

Rock Late 90's or early to mid 00's song that the singer SCREAMS California at the end of the chorus

It's driving me nuts! I must find this song. The dude kind of elongated the word at the end,. Caaliforniaaa! Like one of those loud but raspy worn out screams. At first I thought I may have heard it from a skateboard video game soundtrack or something similar, but I checked all over and no luck. Please help.

Polca [Unknown Song] Opening theme used by Brazilian TV (SBT) for El Chapulín Colorado (1993–2015) — anyone recognize it?

Upvotes

Hello everyone! We’re looking for help identifying a lost track used by Brazilian TV network SBT as the opening theme for El Chapulín Colorado (aired in Brazil as Chapolin) from 1993 to 2015.

🎵 Music details:

  • Length: ~32 seconds (only fragment known)
  • Style: electro-polka / electronic polka
  • Instruments: clarinet + electronic drums + analog synths
  • Known uses before 1993:
    • 1987: bumpers for Speedy Gonzales cartoon
    • 1988: Veja o Gordo (Brazilian talk show)
    • 1989: bumpers for El Chavo del Ocho (Chaves)
    • 1993: became the official Chapulín opening

🎧 YouTube link (same audio):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCqtRu7ncEw

📊 Spectrogram of the audio (frequency pattern):
(insert the generated image here)

Internally, SBT labeled the file as “CHAPOLIN_CHAMADA”, but neither the composer nor the original title are known. So far, extensive searches in library music catalogs (KPM, Bruton, Sonoton, etc.) have not revealed a match.

Does anyone recognize this track or know where it could have originated from? 🙏

Shoegaze Can you help me identifying this shoegaze song?

Post image
Upvotes

It starts at 2:10 and is the second song used for this video.

Shazam tells me it's "FREE ME - by Wilzo" but the vocals are not the same, even though it has the same base. The real lyrics is similar to "somebody help me out i can't breathe".

Video link:

https://youtu.be/RIZgkuKF4es?si=fpxz2mUK9d7Vx_e3

The genre is shoegaze. Thank you for your help!

It's the "Hey, ooooo ooo ooo oooo" part. It sounds so familiar! Like a popular song from the past 15 years. maybe?

Does anyone have any ideas on what this song is?

Electronic/EDM 2020-2021/ English / Techno

Upvotes

3 Years of Searching

So back in 2020-2021, It's likely Live Stream of Ronnie Radke or a American COD streamer in Omlet Arcade. Whenever he's playing a game, there's a song playing in the background, like a techno calm song, I've type some recognizable lyrics in YouTube and I got to the song and played it when I'm playing Games (The Music Video is just like dark blue to blue kinda skyline and I unlikely have a Lyrics or more likely a raining effect). So Fast Forward in late 2023, I've heard that Omlet Arcade is shutting down, then I suddenly remember the song, but I forgot the title of the song, I've tried to go to history in YouTube, but it didn't work, until now, I've still didn't find the song and it's bothering me, I forgot 97% of the lyrics, but all I remember is ".....(Words) City......." and the calm techno breakdown after that. I'm not confident, but I really really know that the words "All we are" is on the lyrics. Please someone help me to find this song, I've been searching this since 2023. They're not Big/Famous Band/Person, they're more like Independent/Underground Band/Person. It's also not a Remix. From what I'm remember, it has 2k-8k views on YouTube back in 2023. I hope someone find it, Thanks Guys!

Pop "in my be-eeed" slow upbeat song

Upvotes

There is this song that's been stuck in my head lately that I can't find, only remember parts of the chorus:

"in my be-eeed, come back to heaven".

She might be singing "head" instead of "bed", but I'm pretty sure it's "bed".

Also, she might be singing "it feels like heaven", but it's something along those lines.

It's not a slow song per se, but it's more of a constant chill beat at least during the chorus, maybe 2 beats a second.

When she sings "bed," she goes up a bit from start to finish. Hope that makes sense.

One thing I know is that it's a well-known song cause I've heard it all over the place, don't know how old it is, but I don't think it's too old, maybe 2-5 years or something.

A woman is singing, and it's a very nice chill song to listen to.

Not much info, ik, but that's all I can remember. Hope you guys have some suggestions.

Other/Unknown “Did you know that I’ve been dreaming about you” male singer, chill song

I only have a single lyric that I understood and it was “Did you know that I’ve been dreaming about you” it’s sung by a guy and it’s a pretty chill and soft song, the song also has an instrumental after the lyric before it ends. I think the genre is Alt indie, I might be wrong though.

Sorry if this is too little information, I’ve been trying to find it and Reddit’s my last resort.

Additional: the song doesn’t have any drums or any loud guitars in it, it’s very mellow and soft. The song has the exact lyric that’s in the title, I hope this helps.. I really want to find this song.

Alternative Indie/Alt Rock style male singer dark themes

Upvotes

Heard this song on a spotify radio mix a few months ago and I cannot remember the title or artist properly.

It is a indie/alt folky song with a male singer and the song starts with the singer meeting a girl and then quickly dives into dark themes, potentially written from the viewpoint of a murderer? I believe the chorus repeats something similar to 'soon you'll be nothing but bones' etc. The title might have the word 'consequence' in it? I thought the singer might have the first name Brendan but no amount of googling has helped me come close.

So I can’t remember if it is her song or not but i think it’s about aliens but there’s this old married couple on like a farm or something and the wife wakes up and insists to her husband there’s lights outside the window and he just tells her to go back to bed. I can’t remember any lyrics but remember the music video and that bit

Electronic/EDM Italian party song?!

Hi,

I try to find the name of this fun nice party song in italian that was on in the car while i was on a little roadtrip with a very beautiful man, and i was too distracted by watching him dance and sing it that i forgot to look at the name. I then heard it also later from another car, so it must be popular.

Its very party song and you can sing and dance to it with a big rhythm and with beats!! Probably something electronic, but not sure.

Maybe something comes to mind to you?

Thank you <3

Violin Help me find this obscure violin tune..

This certain tune has been scratching my brain for quite some time now and I have no idea what it’s called, who it’s from, or if it is even available to the general public. However, I’ve heard it at least twice in two different sittings. First time was in this video https://youtu.be/9KMbaFqweqg?si=am9r0eOybL-D1UKD and it begins to play at 1:53 . Then a couple of months later after almost completely giving up on finding it I heard it again in this video https://youtu.be/y3Z5EuJVFoU?si=eNcsVAyZKUe7lH6T in which the tune begins to play at 0:48 . I know it couldn’t just be made for one event since I’ve heard it in two completely different areas of media, so does anybody happen to know what the song may be called?

Rock 90’s alternative electronic song with male spoken lyrics, obscure

In the mid 90’s I used to listen to a college rock station in Manhattan, KS that would play alt rock usuals with some obscure tracks and local artists mixed in. Many mornings they would play a song with a spoken lyric, “I’m dying”, followed by a spoken response, “No you’re not”. My memory is that the song was electronic. I asked a chatbot to locate the song and it said that The 1975 performed a song similar to my description but no known recordings exist. Clearly the song I am trying to track down wasn’t performed by The 1975 back in the 90’s, but maybe they covered it during a concert. That’s all I have right now. Anybody have any thoughts?

Indie Indie Rock song I only know one line of (male singer)

Hey so I am looking for a song that goes like this

"Show me what it's liiiiike"

And the song is prob at least 10 years old. And it's somehow like typical Indie Rock style but with a nostalgic Feeling to it in production (like the song "Love will tear us apart")

It's nothing from Artic monkeys, Wombats, Kooks, Mando Diao, not a happy song, not British I think, not Rock like RHCP

The song is not a ballad but also not too fast.

Metal A punky/dub step-y song with the lyrics - "I'm gonna kick kick kick kick kick you in the face"

I think I had it on a CD that came with Metal Hammer or Rock Sound magazine probably over ten years ago. I think it was a female singer, was rocky/punky/dubby.

Can't think of much more to say......but it's killing me!
