Not particularly motivated to spend money on another one with how flaky the first was.

Is it a totally new controller with new wifi chip and preferably thread?

Am I the only one who hasn’t had any issues with the 4D? I love mine

If I never change a setting and allow mine to just fall off app connectivity, it’s perfect.

If I change it to music or link it to other lights it’ll take me 3 weeks to get it back to plain old 4d mode reliably

Mine works well too software wise, pretty reliable. But hardware wise is where I have a few complaints on like the lightstrip adhesive is starting to come off on a few parts and with the corner brackets that I complain on in an earlier comment here.

Some other info I gathered: The new 4D V2 will start shipping by August 29 (a week from now) and there’s no 85-inch variant available right now, only 65-inch.

Other new info: 4D V2 is advertised to have improvements in White and Colour Accuracy & the New Trimmable ZigZag design first seen on the PC Screen Mirror Lightstrip that does away the need for corner brackets which for me I have a huge problem with since the corner brackets on my V1 always comes off from the adhesive tapes that was included with Nanoleaf and even with a heavy duty adhesive tape that I use to replace it with - they still keep coming off which infuriates me.

The better White and Colour accuracy is also welcome since I do notice the whites on the 4D lightstrip always looked off and appear greenish white appearance and hopefully they capture the Purple colour better.

Which is a bummer. My TV is larger than 65”.

I ordered one this morning and just got an email that it has shipped.

Nice. Happy for you.

I’m still waiting till I hear others review on it before purchasing mine to see how it is

Hey, would you be able to give some feedback when you have it, please? I would like to get something like it for my TV, that also works for the in-built TV apps, but hearing the 50/50 feedback from v1, I'm a bit hesitant without any end user reviews so far.

Anything different about the camera from v1?

Had V1 for a smaller tv but recently upgraded to 65”. Wish I could purchase light strip only use my old camera.

From what available info we have now, the Camera & Controller look to be the same as V1. The only notable difference I see in the tech spec comparing the 2 is the Lightstrip Cable that connects to the Controller is now shorter on V2 (0.5m) vs V1 (1m).

Is it still WiFi? No matter or thread?

It still connects via Wi-Fi like V1, no Matter or Thread connection

Huge disappointment it doesn’t have thread and Bluetooth. WiFi only onboarding is a pain and I feel like a thread radio with boarder router support could help sync performance.

Not really a huge upgrade considering the offerings from Govee and Hue. The current camera setup is really susceptible to reflections which doesn’t seem to be addressed in the v2 either. I guess we’ll know more once people start receiving them but I don’t plan to purchase.

I now refuse any smart devices without matter over thread especially at this price point.

Improved whote color sounds very interesting.
