Anybody ever cleaned a Barbour jacket? I just bought a Classic Bedale eBay and am wanting to effectively sanitize it before wearing it this season. I was thinking of using isopropyl alcohol on the lining & corduroy collar to kill bacteria, but what about the wax?

Does it smell or have stains? I do the broadway trick by spraying isopropyl alcohol on garments and letting them air out of doors. I'd turn it inside out and treat the lining and sleeves this way to see how far this gets you. Unless there are visible stains on the outer shell, I say leave it until it's dry and ready for a rewax.

I did an IG reel on this - it’s pretty easy.

Thank you for this! Couple of questions if you don’t mind. Can you describe the difference between the musty smell and the old vintage smell? Does that smell stay after getting rewaxed? And can I ask how much I should expect to spend if I send it to Barbour for a rewax?

Must smells like a dirty barn and old Barbour smells a bit like gasoline. I had one that smelled like a dirty old lawn mower than was stored in a barn.

Like $50-60? You can check their site I don’t remember the exact amount.

Depending on the age some funky can still linger but it’s no where near as bad. One of mine was triggering my allergies until I cleaned it and had it rewaxed.

Rewaxing is an easy job you can do yourself. Can of Barbour wax is around 20 bucks.

BOXERS

Not briefs. Boxers.
My old BB boxers finally need an update and I'm looking to move on to a superior product. I have kind of narrowed it down to a few brands like O'Connell, Andover, J. Press and Tiger Mountain. What I'm interested in is finding out if there any vendors from Japan that make this classic garment. They have a great reputation manufacturing Ivy Style and denim and socks and a million other things. I'm looking for boxers. Any leads or tips where I could find out information like this? Is there a forum somewhere, or another subreddit, or does the answer lay right here?

Apologies if this question is inappropriate to post here, I am bad at navigating.

Not Japanese but have you looked at Sunspel?

Thanks for the reply. I have looked at Sunspel and they look fantastic. However, after currency conversion they are about $85 CDN per pair plus about $40 in shipping and then duties. Understandably I would order more than one pair to help offset the cost, but I'm still looking at around $100 per pair which I am not prepared to do. I mean, I'm ready to pay...but that is just too much for me to feel good about. Maybe a trip to Portugal or England will fix this problem?

It's a great suggestion though and I appreciate it. I'm researching pretty heavily, and there doesn't seem to be an economical option at this time. I swear, there isn't a single pair of boxer shorts made in Canada. I'm not buying anything from the U.S anymore. Japan was my interest because for a lot of other products they are made high quality and ship to Canada fast and cheap.

Straight fit? Those are skinny chinos.

Break doesn’t really matter with small leg openings because they don’t drape. You either have bunching at the ankle or no interaction with the shoe.

Is this shirt too slim for these pants? Should I go with a more classic cut?

Another angle.

Has anyone bought Morjas ivy loafers? Looking for sizing advice and I can't find anything reliable. I'm a 9D in Weejuns, Jay Butler, and Allen Edmonds loafers, which is a half size down from my Brannock 9.5 (Sperrys, AE laceups)
