Great look! Do you have a pocket square as well? Your hand may be blocking the view.

Double breasted, pleats, and full cuts are fashionable again. I have a db blazer just like this. Wear it out for a few seasons while it’s in and put it on mothballs for the next go-round or rock it anyway for some GTH je ne sais quoi.

Could I do something similar, but no tie, and driving loafers/mocs with this?
The jacket is horn button, not brass, and has a light checkered pattern as well so I think I wouldnt look TOO much like a frat guy in college

You remind me of Ben Bernschneider, maybe with small touches of Ben Bernschneider.

There’s a disconnect between the casual chino of the pants and the jacket…

I would disagree. Despite often perceived formality due to the hardware (and its origin) - a navy blazer is a more casual item commonly worn to sporting events.
I think its heritage makes it ripe for contemporary experimentation and "dressing down". Even the british aristocracy has been dressing it down for decades (see photos of prince charles pairing with chinos, unbuttoned, and no tie).
So while pleated trousers may look more "classic", I don't think this is by any means a mismatch.
With a good eye, one does not need to be imprisoned by traditional rules of menswear.

Yes, that’s what‘s makes it Preppy and not Ivy. Besides: if James Bond can do it, you can do it.
