New temperature differential and minimum compressor run time settings

Post image

Just saw that these settings were added to the advanced settings of Nest on Google home. Has anyone tried these out yet? It's open window weather right now here so I'm going to test it for myself probably next week.

Is it possible to offset the humidity?

I would increase the Compressor lockout time to at least 5 minutes.

In the photo, the Compressor lockout time is shown as 2.5 minutes (default).

If I suspect my system is oversized. I wonder if setting a longer minimum compressor time would help lower my indoor humidity.

This is the main reason I'm thinking about doing this. When it's hot and humid outside I force my system to run for 30-60 minutes using a low holding temp because the normal 10-15 minute cycles don't do the trick in my home. My home gets a little cold when I do it but it uses less energy than running a separate dehumidifier plus normal AC.

Same here. Where is this advanced configuration setting? I can’t find it

I go to the screen with the thermostat mode control change then settings in the top right corner,  then under device features section click thermostat and then on the next screen click "advanced configuration" which is listed after the wiring menu.

I have the current cheaper Nest Thermostat (not learning) so I'm not sure if the older versions have the same options yet.
