Definitely The Sinner and yes season one was the best one. I was so excited everytime a new season came out but none of them were as good as that first first one.

Sens8
Any of those Harlan Coban ones might scratch that psychological/thriller itch
Behind Her Eyes (I wish I could erase my memory so I could watch this again)

u/ilovem8th 8d ago

Watching it rn and my favourites are Will and Sun!! They make me so excited to watch the show but honestly all 8 of them are great characters, which is surprising. Shame I had such a slow start otherwise it could’ve been a bigger hit I think

Haunting of hill house
2
u/ilovem8th 8d ago
what’s it about ?
3
u/IlovePizzaHeLikesSex 7d ago
“Explores a group of siblings who, as children, grew up in what would go on to become the most famous haunted house in the country. Now adults, and forced back together in the face of tragedy, the family must finally confront the ghosts of their past, some of which still lurk in their minds while others might actually be stalking the shadows of Hill House.”
And I’d add that it goes back between past and present and the cast is stacked!

It’s basically horror but really good. I usually don’t get scared easily especially with western horror films but this show was really scary.

Don’t forget Pluto!
1
u/ravens_path 8d ago
Not on Netflix. Only on an Asian streamer.
3
u/RazorRamonio 8d ago
That’s odd I’m in California and it’s on Netflix.
1
u/ravens_path 8d ago
There is a series called Pluto on Netflix but it’s an anime something, not the Indonesian drama. Japanese maybe?
1
u/RazorRamonio 8d ago
I was referring to the anime lol!
2
u/ravens_path 8d ago
lol. Well then. Ah I see….to go along with Blue Eye Samurai? Ah ok. I get it now. Hahahahah. The Indonesia drama is ummm, very different than that. I was raising my eyebrow….just a little. 🤣
2
u/RazorRamonio 8d ago
Yeah, I back to backed them together. Pluto and then blue eyed samurai. If you like the one you’ll probably like the other although Pluto is a bit more sci fi.

i’ve watched it and i LOVE IT currently waiting for the release date for season 2

You could read the trilogy in the mean time if you loved it that much. I couldn't wait for season 2, so I read the entire trilogy. Did the same thing when I saw season 1 of Silo on Apple TV :)

I can get into this. What am I missing?

u/Specific_Paramedic17 7d ago
Yeah, I also can not get into this show (I guess thats what you meant..?).
What are we missing, guys?
6
u/Chatting_shit 7d ago
It’s a story about time travel and it’s clear the show runners had it all planned out from the start. You’re constantly wanting answers but there are no loose ends by the time it finishes which cant really be said for a lot mystery shows.
1
u/Specific_Paramedic17 7d ago
Thank you for that answer. Because of you I will give the show another try!
1
u/maddy2011 1d ago
Please do.. I've recently completed it and I can say this has been the best show I've ever seen. It's a slow show so you'll have to be patient but you'll love the mystery part of the show.

Ya, Yosemite is huge, it’s gonna have to be shot all over the place.
I’ll see myself out.

u/RegularImprovement47 3d ago
I enjoyed it! It’s totally a True Detective season 1 wannabe, but nonetheless, it’s definitely worth a watch!
2
u/Urban_animal 3d ago
Its what, 6 episodes? Easy way to kill 2 week nights of what i would consider a good tv show

Comedy series
It's Always Sunny In PHILLADELPHIA annnd THERE'S A NEW SEASON COMING
Tiers it's so funny and stupor but in the grey way and the episodes are so short
Sick Note Short episodes easy to binge.its very dark humour so maybe not a good watch if you're easily offended. That definitely includes all the above.
Movies
Comedy Movies I have always loved Pineapple Express, Games Night, Tag, Fist fight and The House (with Will Farrell)
Strays is sooo so funny I only watched it last week and it surprised me so much i
The Fundamentals of caring, I think I gave recommended this to everyone I know Along with The Perms Of Being A Wallflower 🥹
The Foreigner is AMAZING - It's an action crime as you can imagine since Jackie Chan
Series
Easy viewing series - You Can't Ask That., I found that one so interesting, it's Australian but it reminds me of someonethibg Vice would do.
Cunk On Earth - I love her as an actress but in this it's just so silly it's funny. I Watch it if I'm ever feeling sad because I know it'll mKd me laugh 😅

u/InevitableTeaching35 8d ago
I watched always sunny a long time ago and couldn’t get into it.. is the series not for me or should I give it another try?

u/Symptom-Alive 8d ago
You don't have to watch them really in any order I guesssss. So you could just watch fan favourites. Its extremely non PC. Its hard to choose favourite episodes but there's one called Times Up for the gang (season 13 episode 4) and another funny one The Gang Gets Analysed (season 8 episode 5)

Oh my gosh, my kids watch that on repeat!! The oldest girl (10) loves it but won’t admit it and she says the youngest (5) “makes” her watch it. 😂

u/thatonefrein 8d ago
Good, but not a show
2
u/frazzled-mama 8d ago
Still....it's so good! Doesn't matter that it's not a show. Everyone should watch it! I've watched it (willingly) with my kids four times already.

Watching a Japan drama Glass Heart. Surprisingly good. Great music, filming, and story. Apparently the actor playing the lead singer is scheduled to go on tour.

“The Remarkable Life of Ibelin”
Note: I’m not a gamer. But this documentary was recommended on another post, so I added it to my list. Watched it last night. Wow…incredibly moving and hit my emotions in several different directions - Sadness, happiness, amazement, incredulity, appreciation for life.

Do you like Korean shows ? so many to choose from if so, I suggest Flower of Evil, The Glory, Sell your Haunted House, Korean Odyssey, The Trunk, Destined with You, Tale of the Nine Tailed, It's Ok not to be Ok - they're all on Netflix right now & eminently bingeable

Love Death & Robots. Essentially, the animated equivalent of Black Mirror. The episodes are short, so you can probably binge the whole show in a day or two.

Also into the dark is all right if you like crime drama stuff with a little bit of adventure and hijinx. I'm looking for something new too. I just catch myself watching the same familiar stuff over and over.

The ghettos and street life of London and the grind to make it to the top via drug dealing. It’s very gritty. Watch with subtitles

Blindspot. It’s about a team of FBI agents solving mysteries by using tattoos on an amnesiac woman’s body. I don’t usually watch law enforcement dramas, so I don’t know how I found this one but I got hooked quick. It’s one of those that is so bad it’s good. The acting is meh, the plots are ridiculous, but the cast are cute and make it work. Apparently the writers basically tried to outdo each other with unbelievable dialogue and scenarios. Like “This tattoo is a ship and they sail in the sea which is made of saltwater so we need to go the nearest salt mine!” And yup, there’s the bad guy hiding in a salt mine. I made that up but it’s not far off.
Really, Blindspot. At first I was hate-watching it but now I just love it.

If I had to recommend Peaky Blinders to you, I’d say this: it’s not your usual gangster show. It’s gritty, stylish, and heavier than it looks at first. The story is soaked in survival, family, and ambition, and Tommy Shelby (played by Cillian FREAKIN Murphy) is the kind of character you just can’t shake off. He’s damaged, magnetic, and every decision he makes feels like it could save or destroy everything. The music is unreal too, with modern rock cutting through smoky 1920s Birmingham. It’s dark, addictive, and before you know it, you’ll be watching at 2 a.m. telling yourself “just one more.”

I loved Dark, but that is commonly recommended. If you have seen it and like it, I would recommend The Lazarus Project. I'm on S2 and am loving it, but apparently it got cancelled so be warned.
