Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Just out of curiosity, who was in your main party for Ni no Kuni 2?
I've just arrived in Broadleaf and I've been playing with Evan, Roland, and Tani since the beginning. Is there a better setup? Never used Batu or Leander, and now I have Bracken (temporarily). I'm doing good with my current trio, but if I know anything about RPGs, they give you more party members for a reason.

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler I find it straight up bizarre how easily the protagonists forgave a certain ruler
I'm currently playing NNK2 (just finished chapter 4), and I find it bizarre how easily the protagonists forgave Pugnacious (the ruler of Goldpaw), for the reason that "he was manipulated." I don't recall him being mind-controlled or anything, it was his own agency to con and bleed his citizens dry.

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Bastion... rant... Spoiler
Edit: This is my first playthrough.
First, it took 4 TPKs (and spending time levelling up in-between each TPK) for me to finally beat him.
We beat him (finally) - but now, yes, you know what happens next.
.. I was never good at platform jumping in these games.
It took me close to an hour and a half to get up those mother****ing stairs.

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Ni No Kuni 2: How would you go about obtaining Pebbles?
just wondering. As someone who beat the entire main game and became super stuck grinding the end game DLC content, the one with different tiers of "Bars", I gave up.
I tried to find other ways to power up and the only one that came to mind was trading pebbles for stat candy.
I just couldn't find a good way to obtain pebbles and just gave up.

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler How best to assign citizens?
I've recently got the kingdom to level 3, and unlocked the advanced version of a lot of the facilities.
Is it better to assign existing citizens to the new facilities even if it potentially leaves the old one unoccupied, or do new recruits fill out the new facilities pretty quickly?
Likewise if the facility is maxed out and has all the research completed, is there any detriment to leaving it unoccupied?
For context I'm at 52 citizens and have just got the airship, but am trying to mop up as many side quests before advancing the story.

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom DLC How to S-rank Solosseum Challenge 24 (Solosseum Supremo trophy guide)
Big Hitters. The demanding challenges in Ni no Kuni 2. You will need to S-rank all of them in order to unlock the Solosseum Supremo gold trophy. S-rank depends on your completion time. Bosses are bulky and are able to OHKO. Be sure to reach the max level (150) before tackling it. Farm the golden weapons and gear. Some challenges will require several attempts. You have to master the Ni no Kuni 2 mechanics, if you want to succeed. Getting 100% in Ni no Kuni 2 is one of the hardest things when it comes to jRPGs on PS4.
STRATEGY:
-one teammate with Gizmo Supremo (Martial Method) is recommended - more items/efficiency. At least one Wizard's Companion (Martial Method) magic user – highest damage you can dish in NNK2,
-Genie Juice is the best consumable item to use in Solosseum – it will buff all of your attacks,
-Bawbee Wand is excellent in the Awakening Mode, equip Evan (and Leander) with it,
-Charm Charger on every character, getting MP for free is incredible,
-"Hangs on with 1 HP after a big hit" perk is invaluable in Solosseum since bosses are able to OHKO you,
-remember to check every Stone Tablet before the fights and set the Tactic Tweaker and spells accordingly,
-for Higgledies I went with all light and increased Awakening Mode.
BUILD:
Evan: Bawbee Wand. *Godhead Armor (HP, resistance and physical defense boosts), *Sabatons of Accord (magic attack buff X3), *Chosen One's Ring VI (critical buff), *Charm Charger IV (MP is gradually restored).
Leander: Bawbee Wand. *Utopian Armor (def, magic and HP buffs), *Dead Knight's Boots (magic X2, less damage taken at low HP), *Chosen One's Ring IV (critical buff), *Charm Charger (MP is gradually restored).
Tani: Chariot Arcanum (weapon) *Utopian Armor (def, melee, HP buffs), *Heyannir Slippers (def buff, hangs on with 1 HP after a big hit, longer i-frames), *Raging Ring VI (melee X3), *Charm Charger II (MP is gradually restored).
Best of luck!

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Ni No Kuni 2 Checklist for Quests, Facilities, Citizens, Higgledies, Skirmishes and Chests (no plot spoilers, just generic names and locations) Spoiler
Hi!
I'm not sure how many people are still playing this game by the time this is posted, but I am just now playing it in 2024. I made this checklist for tracking things that may be helpful. I figured since I took the time to organize it, I might as well post it here. Make sure you click "make a copy" so that you can edit and track your own progress. It contains the following:
-List of all side quests (#, Location, Lvl, Reward)
-List of all Evermore Facilities (Lvl, Function)
-List of all Evermore Citizens (Name, Race, Location, Job, Skill)
-List of all Higgledies (Name, Location, Item Needed)
-List of all locked blue chests (Locations, Contents)
-List of all skirmishes (lvl, Location, Pre-requisites)
Enjoy and feel free to let me know if I missed something or something is wrong! Obviously there are very vague "spoilers" for locations/NPC names in there, so if that bothers you don't use it till post game I guess.

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Brillianticore lv. 44 fight (NNK2)
So I'm having a heck of a time with this fight. I just started chapter 6 and am doing some dream quests where you stay at different inns and dream about a rabbit conductor.
The boss I'm fighting is weak against fire so I'm using fire swords and fire spells with Evan, it seems pretty straightforward, but I can't reliably break his charge up spell that heals him for like 45,000 hp. I'm cycling swords so that I can use the zing mechanic but I can't always stagger, once in a while he gets the heal spell off and I'm back to square one and eventually i run out of items.
Is there a reliable way to stagger, is stagger based on damage alone or a hidden stagger stat? So some abilities stagger more? Or drain its mp? Or is it just level up, do more damage? I have a level 9 fire tornado spell that should absolutely be staggering this thing with full zing and the fact that it's not is very annoying.

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Am I the only one who prefer 2 over 1?
I'm not alking story-wise but in term of gameplay, fighting, I just can't get into Ni No Kuni 1 while I had absolutely no problem with the second one. (Then again I'm not very far into the second one so I don't have all the gameplay elements yet nor was I really far in the first one either). Am I the only one?
And yes I know that story-wise the frist one crushes the second one no question according to redditors but fighting is such a drag for me in the first one that I just can't continue it right now (maybe I just can't connect to this type of fighting gameplay).

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Ni no kuni 2 Ding Dong Dell Castle secret room. (Spoiler?) Spoiler
So, I'm on chapter 8 and I'm going back through Ding Dong Dell Castle just checking it out, when I notice the map has a floor labeled, "Secret Room". Am I dumb and just not remembering going through it at the beginning? Or is it something new that I can access now that the town has been opened up? I can't find anything about it online.

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler In-depth guide for Solosseum Challenge 28 (S-rank, Ni no Kuni 2)
Brutal Beatdown. Literally. The second hardest challenge. For this specific challenge you need a solid melee character like Roland (his Slithy Sword is incredible), Martha's Methods for the first 2 rounds and Wizard's Companion + Gizmo Supremo for the other two. Nightmare Rook casts magical orbs this time. Able to easily OHKO you and your team.
-first boss is weak to Water, second to Darkness and third to Light, so you need Leander and Evan,
-Genie Juice for all attacks buff,
-Bawbee Wand is excellent in the Awakening Mode, equip Evan (and Leander) with it,
-Charm Charger on every character, getting MP for free is incredible,
-"Hangs on with 1 HP after a big hit" perk is invaluable in Solosseum since bosses are able to OHKO you,
-remember to check every Stone Tablet before the fights and set the Tactic Tweaker and spells accordingly.
BUILD:
Roland: Slithy Sword + Wraith Lord's Laser. *Utopian Armor (HP, def, melee), *Godhead Shoes (HP, def, resistances), *Raging Ring VI (melee X3), *Shiny Pendant of Vigor IV (water damage, Zing rate).
Evan: Godhead Sword + Bawbee Wand. *Godhead Armor (HP, resistance and physical defense boosts), *Sabatons of Accord (magic attack buff X3), *Chosen One's Ring VI (critical buff), *Charm Charger IV (MP is gradually restored).
Leander: Einmanuthur Spear + Bawbee Wand. *Utopian Armor (def, magic and HP buffs), *Dead Knight's Boots (magic X2, less damage taken at low HP), *Chosen One's Ring IV (critical buff), *Charm Charger (MP is gradually restored).
Tani: Adamantine Lance (weapon). *Interstellar Mail (all defences up + longer i-frames), *Heyannir Slippers (def buff, hangs on with 1 HP after a big hit, longer i-frames), *Chosen One's Ring VI (critical buff), *Charm Charger II (MP is gradually restored).
Good luck!

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Skirmish
I was doing a side task, where I had to protect these soldiers, I failed. I have been doing a bunch of the skirmishes to level up for the main story, and normally after I completed one if would disappear, then after a while it would reappear. But this one isn't... does anyone know why? Do the skirmishes permanently disappear when you fail? 🥺
I forgot what the side task was called but i think the skirmish starting point was in the plainview plateau and it had me cross all the way through the heartlands.
Any help is appreciated!

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler In-depth guide for Solosseum challenge 27 (S-rank)
Monstrous Meltdown. Literally. The hardest challenge, in my humble opinion. For this specific challenge you need a strong melee character like Roland, Batu or Bracken. Roland is preferred since he has access to a very powerful, dark sword (you need either Light or Dark imbued weapon for the last boss – its weaknesses are randomized). Remember to bring Gizmo Supremo and Wizard's Companion users.
-one teammate with Gizmo Supremo (Martial Method). Martha's Method is good for the first round. Wizard's Companion for everything else,
-bring a strong melee character for the last round (important),
-Genie Juice for all (attack buff),
-Bawbee Wand is excellent in the Awakening Mode, equip Evan (and Leander) with it,
-Charm Charger on every character, getting MP for free is incredible,
-"Hangs on with 1 HP after a big hit" perk is invaluable in Solosseum since bosses are able to OHKO you,
-remember to check every Stone Tablet before the fights and set the Tactic Tweaker and spells accordingly.

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Final boss problems
Played through the game and now I am at the lvl 72 boss fight. I got him down to a sliver of health and he does his shield thing but now I am basically unable to damage him. His health just doesn't go down.
At this point I had basically only one party member left. Maybe it makes a difference?

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Best party in-depth guide, easy S-ranks in Solosseum (Ni no Kuni 2)
Hey, guys! Not sure if it's allowed to post content creation, but I wanted to share my best party video guide, as it helped many players. Hopefully it'll help someone here too.
So yeah, it resolves around my team after nearly 200 hours of gameplay. With this trio you will be able to deal the highest possible damage, complete the game on Hard/ Expert, beat the hardest Solosseum Challenges on S-rank and such. The exact equipment, Higgledy squad, in-depth build, Tactic Tweaker settings, best items to use. If you build your party around the Awakening Mode, you will be unstoppable.
Best of luck!
PS: Can't wait for NNK3!

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Playing NNK2, can I leave boss to get healing items?
I just got to BL-Iterator, and every single one of these types of bots take it out of me. I did the whole factory with not many healing items because I didn’t remember hitting any teleport spots.
If I teleport out and go grab like a million soreaways, will I be able to get back to this boss fight without hassle, or will I need to stock up so much so as to account for all the enemies that may or may not respawn along the way?

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Lofty Upgrade? Spoiler
On chapter 5 heading to port town. Does Lofty ever get an upgrade battle wise? All he does is run around and toss me a golden orb every 10 battles. The only time he ever tosses the orb is also when there’s 2 seconds left in the battle, I’ve literally never gotten an orb early enough in a battle for it to be useful in any way….

Did I miss something or did Lockety clicker come from nowhere?
The part where Roland returns to ding ding dell and opens up the room where the hidden chamber for the mark of kings is it seems kind of significant to just leave out especially since it isn’t just some ordinary key so maybe I missed a part of the story?

Ni no Kuni 2 spoiler Ni no kuni 2 - underleveling Spoiler
Hi guys, i'm currently playing for the first time revenant kingdom, currently on chapter 6, playing on hard and i am extremely underleveled,. I was in chapter 5 when i noticed the field monster being almost always red, i was at level 29 and they were at 37 or around that level, now, i'm level 34 and the field enemy on the new map are lv 54 lol is that normal? Exp farming seems to be too slow, and yes i have the exp options at lv2 in the menu, i feel like dropping the game honestly, any suggestion?
