Why is Luigi Mangione potentially facing the death penalty for the murder of one person when other murderers with similar crimes get jain time?

Please no snarky comments of 'you know why' , 'it's because the guy was rich' etc... There HAS to be a reason why his crime is getting sentenced so heavily that doesn't have to do with the net worth of his victim, or at least I hope there is.

In my city, a drunk driver kills two people in a car and he's sentenced to jail for 20 years and gets out in 12 for good behaviour.

Luigi kills one man and is facing the death penalty?

I don't understand, he didn't kidnap, rape or torture, I've heard of murderers who rape and murder their victims get sentenced to jail.

Sir. Sir. You are delusional if you think it ISN'T. What the hell do you think war is?

Luigi wasn't a soldier, he is a murderer of another US citizen who is rightfully being prosecuted for the crime. Dont gaslight with 'war' bullshit - is every murderer a solider at war or just the murderers you happen to agree with?

Objective morality is not a thing, Class war is a thing, and yes, just the ones I agree with. Deal with it.

Would you trade the life of a healthcare ceo for the life of a planned parenthood director? Both can be killed in the name of political violence against oppressors by different people.

We live in a time where people can change things without mob rule (violence). It’s the main reason society is more stable than ever before.

A) nobody is being oppressed by planned parenthood, they just don't like it because their politicians told them it's the devil. B) we live in a time where people can change things peacefully, but we no longer live in a place where that change is possible peacefully in a progressive direction, because all the keys to power are held by regressives. When that happens, peace stops being effective. Would peaceful protests against Nazi rule have been effective in Nazi Germany after the Night of the Long Knives? Not even remotely. We are there. Now. In this place.

A) not opinion, they offer a service that can be denied by anyone with zero negative consequences, but people are capable of being WRONG about it, objectively, however I'll give you that one as people are just as willing to kill people who their religion disagrees with as they are actual mass oppressors.

B) we CANNOT undo most of the damage he has already done IN OUR LIFETIME, much less a few years. And it's not about passing laws, it is far, far more about making passing laws UNNECESSARY. His executive orders ARE LAW. he has stacked the Supreme Court with partisans for life. He has created his own private police force. His cronies own every national news conglomerate. His Supreme Court has abolished a number of constitutionally protected rights that we are simply not getting back in the near future because there's too much else to fix. He's dismantled numerous social services that took decades to create. He has undermined our international trade because nobody trusts us to honor a deal. He's alienated our foreign allies and emboldened our enemies, and WORST OF ALL, he has put the soul of our country for sale to the highest bidder. Maybe it always was, but now it's out there in the open. But even so, He isn't the entirety of the problem! It wouldn't go away with just him! You're literally living in a Dreamland if you think we will even be able to win 26, and that doing so would let us undo this damage.

A) Opinion. Someone could easily believe planned parenthood oppresses people and healthcare ceos don’t.

B) This is larp based on emotions and online accelerationism ideology. Biden was able to accomplish many progressive things via the democratic process. Pretty pathetic that you’re willing to give up after 6 months. Keep in mind very few actual bills have been passed. If we get Dems in 26 and 28 the can easily undo 99% of the things Trump has done so far.
