List of restaurants in/around Oakland that have their own delivery drivers - feel free to add new ones!

Hey r/OaklandFood,

I hope this helps you save some money. Anyone with the link (opens up a Google Drive spreadsheet) can add new restaurants that qualify, or take down ones that don't.

Enjoy!

Need suggestions on a nice restaurant for a mid-week lunch

Hi! I have a friend flying in for the day and I’m going to meet up with them for lunch. I’m new to Oakland so I need suggestions on a nicer sit down restaurant with good food (open to any type of cuisine) that is open for a mid-week lunch. Areas anywhere by downtown Oakland, the lake, Piedmont Ave. Thank you!

Great Korean BBQ?

Hi -- looking for recs for great Korean BBQ! We have gone to Gogi Time for years, but feel it has been going downhill post-pandemic, and we had some decent meals at Ohgane but also some less than decent ones (feels hit or miss). Is this just the reality in Oakland or are there some good spots we should try out? Thanks!!

I got the Gregory ROLLS!

Asked this sub a while back for info on the legendary Gregory Cinnamon Rolls and y’all came through. Saturdays at 1 PM, but get in line @ 12:30. They only have 24 a day. Pictured is the Banana Foster Cinnamon Roll and the Peach Cobbler Roll. I smashed the Banana Roll in one sitting. Perfect caramelization on the bottom of the rolls and it was fresh out the oven. The bananas had different textures and flavors too. Some were thin, crispy, and sweet, while others were soft and natural. Worth the wait. One of the best in the bay.

Only one per person, but my cousin came with me so we were able to try both flavors. Personally preferred the Banana Foster but the peach was good too! Was never a peach person so that’s why I preferred Banana.

Mi Grullense on Fruitvale

Why is Grullense on Fruitvale always empty? It's a damned solid sit-down Mexican restaurant with a full bar, good food and mind blowing seafood. Plus it's super cute inside.

Is it that the location looks a little sketch from the outside? It's 100% not sketch on the inside.

I want people to go there so they stick around!

Turkish food?

Just ate at Sultan’s Kebab in Pleasanton, which is consistently delicious and worth the drive to Pleasanton. I’ve never found anything similar in Oakland/East Bay- any recommendations?

Shaobing sesame bread?

Is there a good place to pick up a bunch of fresh-baked shaobing bread, with the sesame on it?

I just want some good not-too-thick bread covered in sesame for making tomato sandwiches

It's in Richmond but this birria pizza is one of the best things I've ever had, I basically inhaled it

I've lived in LA, San Diego and Mexican cuisine is one of my favorite cuisines but this birria pizza I had was life changing. My taste buds didn't know what hit it and saliva was being recruited from all parts of my mouth.

Based on a thread from the Alameda subreddit. I'm posting here b/c it's close to Oakland and it looks like Southie(an Oakland restaurant) is going to be serving food there.

A search for grilled chicken nachos

Post image
31 Upvotes

Does anyone know of anywhere in Oakland or adjacent to Oakland where I could get this specific type of nachos? Specifically, grilled chicken instead of shredded chicken, and this kind of white melted cheese as opposed to orange cheese.

I had this beautiful plate of nachos while driving through Santa Barbara and have been craving something like this for the last year.

Please help me out!

Tsukemen at Ramen Shop Tonight

Post image

Tsukemen is a ramen dish that consists of large noodles served chilled with a side of hot dipping broth (reduced tonkotsu steeped with dried fish).

They haven't had it is a long time but it's finally back tonight! One of the chef owners who lives in Japan is back in town for a visit and it is one of his favorite dishes.

Check it out! Instagram Post

Your favorite lesser known ethnic dishes and where to find them.

What are some of your favorite dishes at local ethnic restaurants?

Please, no guilt shaming when a dish comes up that you think "everyone" should already know.

I'll start - Nam Khao at Vientiane Cafe. Mongolian Black Bean Beef Chow Fun at Little Namking (San Leandro). Bun Bo Hue at your favorite Vietnamese restaurant.
