Single greatest feat at an Olympic Games?
Hello! Kinda "middle of the night" bored here so fancied a discussion if you're all up for it. Pretty much as the title says, I've come up with a few off the top of my head to get things started!
Bob Beamon's 8.95m in Mexico City?
Jesse Owens' 4 Golds in Berlin?
Phelps' 8 Golds in Beijing?
Spitz's 7 Golds in Munich?
Zatopek's triple Gold in Helsinki?
Comăneci's seven perfect 10s in Montreal?
If you want to stretch this to the Winter Olympics, that's also fine! 🙂
My nomination for that would obviously be Torvill and Dean in 1984.

Buying tickets for the Women's Free programme
Hey,
Do you think it will be possible to purchase a ticket for the Women's Free program via the official resale app? I didn't manage to get a ticket, while I've already bought an airplane ticket to Milano, so I'm not sure what to do :(

X-Country as an Olympic sport
Set up a 5k, 10k, and 50k cross country race. Runners compete as a team and as individuals. Multiple heats. Not gatekeeper by cost, culture, location like other sports. Mass group starts. Showcase the country’s parks. Great sport for spectators, suspenseful finishes. I understand that we already have marathons, speed walking, but Cross Country is different. You run trails, paths, use teamwork, and I would love to see the different countries compete. Thoughts? Check out the national championship college x country race, and tell me that it isn’t exciting, and a joy to watch!

Is the 2036 Olympics selection process in mess?
Among the serious bids there are only three serious options. One (India) is constantly warned by the IOC and has weather factor, the other (Qatar) is a terrible choice for PR and also has weather factor. The others (Turkey) original mayor is in jail, the current municipal representatives are bullied by the government. How IOC does manage this chaotic, uncertain situation?

This is interesting... The rifle and pistol events are going to be indoors for the Olympics. The 25m pistol and 50m rifle events are supposed to be outdoors.

We've got this thing with no clue to use. Tryna figure out for a while. It's looks like swimming suit but there's no space for arms.

Italian train schedules during 2026 Olympics
So far I have not been able to find anything more detailed than "train schedules will be enhanced" and am wondering if anyone else has seen anything more specific. Ideally which trains in which areas and how late they will run.
I've got events in two areas, Milano and Livigno. I'm not worried about the Milano area, I'll be in the city and have no doubt between public transportation, taxi and rideshares I'll be able to get around when I need to, Livigno is another matter. I've currently got a place in the general area because I was making a wild guess as to what shuttle options were going to be and it was as close as I could get at the time without too crazy of a price.
Now I see that the shuttles will run from Tirano station. Which seems reasonably close on paper, a 45m train to Tirano. However I do have tickets for the 19:30 events which probably mean getting back to Tirano around midnight. The normal train schedule is shut down hours before that. Do I just cross my fingers that my specific train is still running? Spend 4x the price to get closer? Etc.
I'm imagining I am not the only one in a similar situation so maybe someone else out there has gotten ahold of more specific details or knows when they would be announced.
