I would much rather have a dynamic game with slightly less graphics than lots of over the top graphics additions at the cost of a bland world.

Well lucky you, they haven't downgraded at all and the game looks great!

Fair ‘nuf. I just want big puddles.

Yeah, cause that's how it works. It's impossible to have good graphics in a good game. That's why the PS4 and Xone suck, the graphics are decent. I'll stick to my Comodore 64 thank you.

I'm not saying you can't have good graphics in a good game. You can still have both. However going over the top with graphics at the cost of other things can ruin a game. If you scale back slightly, I think you can achieve a good balance.

It's a completely different team lol. The only time good graphics need to be scaled back for good gameplay is if the company is cheap as hell and doesn't want to pay for good devs on top of good artists.

Ugh... Because developing, copying and pasting a bunch of puddles comes at the cost of work hours with the animation team and story writers, right? No. Individual aspect of a game is not a good excuse for another aspect of the game to be bad. «I don’t mind reduced graphics for a more lively world» isn’t an argument IMO...

That's not how graphics in a game work. It isn't just about copying and pasting. There is a certain limit to the resources that can be put on the CPU and the graphics card. Having an open, dynamic world puts a strain on the system as does these puddle/reflective type graphics. I think more people would enjoy an overall dynamically rendered game as opposed to putting a ton of resources into puddles.

Water reflections are unquestionably worth it IMO. Have you ever played Forza 7? I don’t know of any aspect of the new Spiderman game that suffers from these good looking puddles, and I really appreciate what authentic reflections bring to a game.

Jesus H. Christ, you need to relax man. If the puddle is so fucking important to people, can't you just accept that and let them be clueless on their own? Acting like a moron by addressing points nobody raised teaches me nothing, and hardly benefits you in any way except for this elegant display of yours. If anything is ridiculous, it's teaching random people with subjective preferences how to use game engines...
