How do you think it's stupid when you literally agree with it?

here companies are showing a version of games that is better than what the finished product

This is what the controversy is about, not a shitty puddle.

Yes changing a few puddles is nothing to get too crazy over

Again, it's not about the puddles. It's about lying in the presentation about how the game will look.

I think we mostly agree on this but are just misreading each other.

I am 100% against them lying about the presentation. I have been critical of CDPR for doing a similar thing with Witcher 3, Ubisoft with Watchdogs and Hello Games with No Man's Sky (a far worse situation).

Then there are to additional factors:

  • One screenshot having a puddle and the other not might be coincidence so let's not lose our minds immediately.

  • If they are downgrading stuff, temper the anger just a little, just a wee bit, because at least they are keeping you informed so you can cancel your preorder if it's a problem. (No Man's Sky had a media blackout until launch day so nobody would know which is really bad). Not saying a downgrade is good, but it's not a betrayal either.

So to summarize:

You might think this is overblown. It may be, but it could be a serious problem also and certain degree of skepticism and composure is healthy here. So don't just dismiss it as nothing.

Its not about fucking puddles. Its just spinned this way. It never was about puddle, its about GRAPHICS DOWNGRADE, and puddle was removed just to try making it less painfully obvious that it already is.

We agree, the screenshot shows less detail on the suit. There's a video that shows a scene where his eyes widen and animate no longer occurs. There's more to this, my point was we shouldn't be so dismissive.
