Wait. There’s a controversy surrounding puddles in Spider-Man? Glad this news missed me

This what people are up in arms about. There is a very obvious difference between the two photos regardless of the puddles.

This image also came out showing there was less detail in some animations than previously showed, again there is a pretty obvious difference between the two.

Insomniac and it's employees have stated there was no downgrade and that it was just a lighting change and a removal of a puddle.

Here's a screenshot of the game in it's current state, it perfectly showcases the difference lighting can make. There wasn't a downgrade. People are just cherry picking for examples with low light scenes.

Reminds me of when Dark Souls 2 (maybe 3?) came out, some people playing with super high gamma took vids of an admittedly blander place and claimed graphics were horrible.

That was Dark Souls Remastered. Dark Souls 2 had it's own controversy where pitch black areas designed to be navigated with the aid of a torch were completely removed by release.
