Palermo chance at promotion
I used to be a huge Palermo supporter back in the days of Amauri, Barzagli, Zaccardo, and Liverani. My passion grew even stronger during the era of Miccoli, Cavani, Nocerino, Pastore, Dybala, Sirigu, and so many other legends.
After Zamparini ran the club into the ground, I still kept an eye on them, but over time life got busy and I wasn’t as invested as before.
I was thrilled when the club was resurrected and eventually taken over by City Football Group, finally bringing some financial stability. But it doesn’t seem like that has translated into real progress toward promotion.
So what’s the real story with this new Palermo project? Do we actually have a realistic chance of getting back to Serie A?

We have a very strong squad for Serie B. Made up of a lot of players who could easily play at the next level. We beat Serie A teams bids for many of them. We have a very strong coach who’s led multiple teams to Serie A promotions. Do we have a realistic chance? Absolutely. We are best positioned in B for a promotion and best we’ve been in the last 3 years in B.
What’s against us? Serie B has been extremely competitive the last few years. A lot of foreign ownership groups with money and desire for the top flight so it’s not like it was back in the day where as long as you had the strongest squad it was a guaranteed promotion. Hopefully we bring it all together this year and are able to make it into one of the two direct promotion spots.
