Australia Pre-hospital drone capability

https://www.ambulance.nsw.gov.au/news/news-items/drones-trialled-to-enhance-nsw-ambulance-aeromedical-and-special-operations

If we could make a drone that could remotely do lift assists I would be so thrilled. Or one with a tranquiliser gun attachment.

What other uses would you like to see drones used for in our field?

To be honest, I dont know the viability of extractions and I am not going to entertain the idea of sedatives.

However, if you could get RBC to location for hypovolemic shock, that would be great.

Yeah, blood product is probably most feasible idea so far.

In a lot of system like mine, the blood is stored in a hospital or a central station and release upon request. So we would need sup car to rendezvous with us on scene. Have a drone deliver it to predesigned LZ like local school or police station on request could save significant time.

I like to daydream about two Boston dynamics robot dogs making the stretcher eight legs that walk instead of four wheels that roll.

Relisticly outside wide area searches the cost of runing anything bigger is going to be so expensive most places can't afford it. Maybe as the cost come down they could be used to drop supplys to remote areas but then you still need a real bird to extract. But hey maybe the tech well surprise me

The tranquilizer gun drone would be great for the calls when PD has a naked individual covered in feces, screaming in the middle of the street so they call for EMS.

"Dispatch, this is Medic 4. Send in the drone".

Meh, not medical equipment. Rather Law Enforcement uses them and tells us when a scene is safe, or for search and rescue.

Couple of really great papers on drone-delivered-defibrillators recently

Some good uses we had for drones/ aviation if we had an overrun into a wooded area we can have aviation do a scan with thermal imaging to see if someone was thrown from the vehicle
