Can I recommend no anesthesia next time? Literally all you need to do is take some Gas-X an hour or two beforehand, ask for a little bit of numbing gel at the opening, and it’s 1000 times easier than an endoscopy.
There’s simply zero reason anyone needs anesthesia for a colonoscopy.
I finally bit the bullet and did it without. I was literally chatting with the nurse the whole time and five minutes later he said he was done. It’s the biggest nothing burger on the planet.

Same here, I have so much other pain in my life that this barely registered. It was uncomfortable for a couple minutes and then done.

What people? And how do they know it’s painful if nobody ever does it without anesthesia?
Again. Gas-X eliminates what they call spasm. Which is the discomfort. And water irrigation, if offered by the doc, reduces discomfort even further.
Why do you suppose that anesthesia is almost never given in all of Europe for colonoscopies if this is the case?

If they have to remove pollups you’re prolly gonna want the nap.

Polyps have no pain nerves. And it’s widely known that removal does not cause pain. Even large ones barely cause a pinch.
But type confidently anyways, while knowing that you aren’t informed on the topic 😂 ahhh the internet.
Anesthesia is not given for colonoscopies in Europe.

I never seen a hospital bill in my life....strange to have to worry about that.
