Two rips of s/t on Spotify - Why?

This has been bothering me for a while. Ever since the album’s been back on Spotify, the main link to the album is the high quality, unaltered Ace Fu rip with 10 songs instead of 12 while the old 12 song album now links to the ‘Cutty Shark’ rip. Not only is this rip significantly lower quality with crackles, but the tuning is off ever so slightly in a way I cannot stand. See for yourself:

https://open.spotify.com/album/29mC8mr2hz5QqEG3JZFNww?si=jMAvV9HDRtSA2P_uqxobKw - 10 songs, HQ

https://open.spotify.com/album/3KI17ZHEbKXYFUMLcHFoUE?si=fEaQZxL5QOy9_gcINhNVSg - 7 songs, low quality and tuned down

Anyone know WHY this is happening?

How do you interpret the lyrics to the song tripoli?

I've had this one on repeat for a while and just curious. Initially I didn't realize "later than I think" was part of the previous line, so it'd go just "sad I'm gonna die, hope it's gonna happen", which I like because I like the indecisive and dark implications, and honestly I think it might have been kind of the intended interpretation since the lines sound so seperated. Or not. Curious how others interpret it.

Going through it, pinback knows how to help

That’s pretty much it. I love this band and unfortunately I am no longer friends with the only person who was as obsessed with them as I am. Happy to have found this sub. I hope to see them live one day.

WTF is this new "Pinback" music on Spotify?

This came up in my Release Radar and I was excited and then very, very disappointed. There's no way in hell the actual Pinback came anywhere near this AI-adjacent dreck. What's going on here?

Discovered the band in 2002. Here’s most of what I’ve collected since then.

Pinback is an essential part of my life and I couldn't be more grateful.

First and foremost I want to start this off by expressing how grateful I am that communities like these exist and keep the spirit of this band alive. In my day to day life I have never met another person who actively listens to this band sadly. Due to this, I rarely get to share how important this group is to me and how much of my life has revolved around their music besides with close friends who typically don't see the appeal anyway.

I was born in 2001 living on the beaches of California and grew up listening to an overwhelming amount of Pinback's debut/self titled album, Blue Screen Life and Summer in Abaddon when I was 3-4 years old. My mom and I were in a pretty bad situation and I was too little at the time to understand how dire things were. We spent many nights in our crappy car on the waterfront looking at the ocean and our only possessions in the vehicle were her beauty products and these three albums.

My earliest memories in my life are the California orange/yellow hued sun hitting my face as a baby and listening to songs such as Lyon, Tripoli, Loro and Crutch. The ending of Montaigne also was etched into my mind. Concrete Seconds and Penelope would play a lot too, although my mother let both albums play all the way through from start to finish usually. The only exception was with Summer in Abaddon where she pretty much exclusively played Non-Photo Blue, Fortress and 3x0.

The most pivotal moments in my life I've always had these records to turn back to and I've always been hit with a sensation of peace. This band has been and will always be my happy place.

I haven't had the privilege of seeing them live yet! Maybe once I'm out of the military I'll be able to see them.

Thingy question!

Rob crow’s other band, Thingy, has a song that sounds insanely familiar. The song is “Grounded, I Guess”. I’m thinking somewhere in the realm of Midwest emo or maybe another math rock kinda band, but this is driving me nuts. If anyone can figure it out please let me know.

Any chance Pinback could put out a new album?

Hi, young Pinback fan here. I'm obsessed with the band and have sifted through all of their albums, including Zach and Rob's work in other bands/projects. I'm super excited for Zach's upcoming music on Systems Officer, but is there any chance Pinback would work on any new stuff together? I got to see them live last month and I'm grateful they're at least still working together in that aspect, but I'd be overjoyed even if there was a chance at new music from them

Where can I find high quality live shows of Pinback?

Looking for videos that are multi camera and soundboard quality sound. The KEXP video is good but very short. Also their show at the Casbah was great but one camera. Just wanted to add that I recently discovered Pinback and absolutely love their music.
