Good support for low earners..... but...

"A total net (take-home) household income from earnings and pensions (excluding benefits and tax credits) of below £935 for a single person household or £1350 for a couple in the month prior to applying;"

It feels like there are a lot of people earning over that amount who are struggling. A lot of whom will be earning "too much" to qualify for any benefits or tax credits which is excluded from the calculation.

We can’t afford to give everyone support even if most people deserve it.

Absolutely, and we pay too much out as a country already. I was more just highlighting how this and other support is excluded from being offered to a growing number of the population who are earning and struggling due to the cost of living.

yeah, it's worth noting a lot of the struggle is not due to poverty but due to high energy prices. lowering energy prices needs to be higher up the government's list of priorities, currently the number one priority seems to be somewhere between policing children's gender and saying they're doing something about migration while not doing anything

Energy prices should be the biggest focus for this government if they want people to feel like they are better off.

100% also note that what we pay as households is lower than what industry pay, one of the big drivers of de-industrialisation has been energy costs.
