Hi, I’m American and I live here teaching English. I don’t have much of a friend group but would love to build one!

Thats quite a coincidence. While i was at Fort Va "Bonin" i met another an English teacher there as well (a guy thought). I would recommend for you to go there as well. Don't get scared by the military stuff going on there. The people are still really friendly :)

What do you mean? Lots of people come have family from different nationalities and end up speaking the language? England is full of 2, 3 l, even 4th generation living in UK for all those generations and still speak to an extend the language their ancestors passed down

Yeah I know right? He is born and raised in UK with native British parents and is like the most usual typical British guy ever 🤣 but people have their misconceptions. Curious if I said I speak Japanese they would think I am from Japan as well 🤣

Not that it matters where he is from, I guess people just give into the propaganda they hear and that cannot be helped 🤷‍♀️

These days you can say you enjoyed reading Anna Karenina and they will brand you a traitor. Take care you two :)

I meet with people from here with some regularity. It's a mixed bunch, some people are polish and some are foreigners living here. Text me if you would like to join us next week

If you happen to like board games I'd recommend going to Fort Va "Bonin" at 16:00 (idk if its only on weekends). Yes the area looks a bit sketchy but the people there are super nice and friendly with foreigners and also for the most part speak great English. Came across that place by pure coincidence and am planning on going back there to help out once I'm done with travelling for the year. Also if you do go there say hi to Szymon from me :) (he is the guy who runs the board gaming place)

What kind of board games? Is it anything or just like war games?

They have a huge selection. Way too may for me to even get the slightest overview. Its anything from simple card games to pretty advanced looking board games. I don't know about war games but it seemed like there is either none or so many other options that you'll definitely find something you like.

Also sorry if my response isn't as detailed as you'd want. I have no idea about board gaming and basically just got dragged in. Had an awesome evening there nonetheless and will definitely return at some point
