Mod Post Enough is enough
Cancer is not a Republican. Cancer is not a Democrat. Cancer is cancer.
In the last six months, I’ve noticed a big shift in this community that I personally find heartbreaking. Everyday I’m having to go through a large list of reported posts and comments that are either crazy baseless conspiracy theories or two sides fighting against each other in some capacity.
I’ve ran this subreddit for around five years. And in the last six months alone, there have been more reports and bans than any of those five years combined. And then when someone very obviously breaks the rules and result in a post removal or ban, I then have to deal with a giant DM belittling me or aggressively arguing with me.
Let me be absolutely clear on something: This subreddit is NOT ran with any sort of agenda whatsoever. I am a human being who has a long family history of having to say goodbye too early to the people who mean the most. And I understand and have accepted my fate is likely similar due to family history. I have been nonstop accused of being some sort of hired employee to a large list of organizations or agencies and I’m beyond exhausted with it all.
At its core, this subreddit’s intentions remain unmoved and unbothered. We are here to support, motivate, and inform individuals and family members who are confused, shocked, scared, etc. Over the last few years I’ve had the pleasure of being the moderator here, I’m so proud to be a part of a community that stays true to that.
I’m not trying to silence anyone or anything. But there’s a very fine line between speaking about what you believe/know versus attacking others and repeating extremely harmful information. To put this bluntly: There are people in this community who have weeks to live. As the moderator, it’s the upmost importance that person can have every single second they can have with their loved ones. Attacking them in many forms and pointing them to ridiculous medical claims is unacceptable. Not as a Republican. Not as a Democratic. But as person to person.
These are all real people going through real things. Please remember that first.

Thank you for what you've created. I have been reading everything for the past few weeks. And I have learned more here than what the urologist told me. 5 years of AS,. When PSA jumped to 26 and PET showed no spread, had biopsy, andI opted for 39 radiation nsessions. Six months later, PSA negligible and testosterone 11. Pre-radiation shot was Lupron. Post radiation was to be 24 months of Eligard at 6 month intervals. I declined the last shot due to fatigue, hair loss (underarms and forearms) ,shrinkage, non-existent libido, and weight gain around waist, though I exercise, eat sensibly - mainly fresh veg, very low carbs, and some meat. Thing is, the urologist, whom I like and have trusted, made the whole thing seem like it would be a walk in the park - xray, ADT, 6 month visit, 1 year visit, 5 year visit and it's in the rear view. I'm thinking, after reading, I need to ask lots of questions, get numbers, etc. when I have my appointment in mid-July. Good luck to all here and thanks for all the information.
