Giving women a safe place to dance and celebrate without the male gaze
Add in some epic music and you’ve got the ideal place for women to go!

Imagine being able to go to a rave or club and not have to constantly check for frotting creeps.

This. I would LOVE to dress in a raver girl outfit so bad but I wouldn’t dare in front of men 😭

But I thought if men didn’t exist, women wouldn’t go to clubs and dress provocatively??

I went to concerts with mosphits only for Flintas. Non-Flinta people paid attention to the homogeneity of the mosphite and people who thought they had to go into the mosphite but didnt belonge in there were pulled out. Some of the pits were much more pleasant, unlike the normal ones, because you dance with people and push each other who are your size. Give women spaces they deserve, men don't have to be everywhere.

It’s a German term for anyone who’s not a cis man. Stands for women (Frauen), lesbians, intersex, nonbinary, trans, & agender.

Wouldn't lesbians already be included under women? Well, some non-binary people identify as lesbians, but in that case still lesbians would pretty much definitionally be included under either women or non-binary.

I suspect the mention is a nod to FLINTA’s predecessor, i.e. women’s spaces that were historically (and in many places still are) run by and for lesbians. It’s not a coincidence that lesbians are the backbone of the feminist movement. Or something like the reason why the L is at the beginning of our acronym — in recognition of lesbians’ work and struggle on behalf of the whole community (especially but not exclusively during the AIDS crisis).

I'm also german, which parties were those? Or was it just like a concert of a band and the FLINTA moshpits happened organically?

Mostly concerts but I also went to Partys which were just for "Flinta" people. And there are also many other events just for FLINTA's or just for women. For example bicycle workshops, music workshops, Pub evenings....
The dancing was stopped by the band and the band called in the FLINTA moshpits and raised awareness. The FLINTA mosphits were the only ones that took place at that moment. All other moshpits and dancing were stopped.

Can one necessarily tell just by looking whether a person is intersex, non-binary, or agender?

It has a lot to do with trust and respect. But if you see the big man in the pit who has been annoying all evening and dancing ruthlessly, there is a consensus to get him out of the pit

Is this also open to all racial backgrounds? ( all women ofc )

What does that have to do with it? Maybe that county/city only has 1 racial background. Just let the women celebrate ffs

No a lot of clubs in foreign countries do not allow other races. For example in Korea there’s plenty of clubs which ban Indians / Pakistanis from entering.
It’s still a kind of racism just a subtle one.
It’s not a question of whether that nation has only one racial background. That is entirely irrelevant to my question.

I’ve been to a few of these in London. Literally the best nights out I’ve ever had. It’s so refreshing to stand at a bar and not get hands up my dress/skirt, or have men breathing down my neck all night.
