Number of lines in a pedestrian crossing traffic sign.

6

u/Meshable123 1d ago

Correct! How did you work it out?

9

u/CommercialFish 1d ago

With enough hints. :D Thought of traffic signs that have something countable, and after a few tries then pedestrian crossing sign came to mind. Thanks for the map!

I’m glad you enjoyed it! Good job on getting it right!

u/iwasthen 21h ago

How did you even come up with this idea?

3

u/Meshable123 21h ago

This kind of map is commonly used in GeoGuessr to help people remember!

1

u/iwasthen 19h ago

Oh my word. I didn’t know that. I’ve always wondered what clues those geo guessers know as fact to help narrow down stuff.

Yeah signage certainly helps if you see one

>!The numbers are not correct though, are they? Here in Greece for example the lines are the same as in the uk.!<

3

u/Meshable123 1d ago

In my head, I was only tracking the blue cross walk signs

2

u/Humble_House_9900 1d ago

You got me i wanted to write this too.

1

u/Lando_W 23h ago

Me too definitely I solved it as well everyone

u/Videorron 1d ago

England seems to have more than 1

1

u/Meshable123 1d ago

I put Uk as null because the sign is different from the rest of europe

u/OkWatercress5802 1d ago

Did you forget Luxembourg

3

u/Meshable123 1d ago

Yeah, I did. Luxembourg should be pink

2

u/itsokbutjustonce 1d ago

it's probably the percentage of gdp spent on military

1

u/CoconutEquivalent490 1d ago

It is a decennia by country when something happened , right ?

1

u/Meshable123 1d ago

>! No !<

1

u/OkWatercress5802 1d ago

Is it to do with the eu or nato

1

u/Meshable123 1d ago

Ugliest men (least perceived handsomeness) of Europe (UK tops the chart)

1

u/Meshable123 1d ago

That's actually crazy, but no

Does it have anything to do with railways or electrification?

Any data for Cyprus?

1

u/Meshable123 1d ago

When this map was made Cyprus wasn't relevant to the reason it was created, but Cyprus would be green.

1

u/kmoonster 1d ago

Number of constitutional or government-style changes since the end of the (western) Roman empire?

1

u/Videorron 1d ago

Is it related to wars?

1

u/caulipower2010 1d ago

femboys

1

u/Meshable123 1d ago

Femboys per capita would be a crazy map, but no

1

u/Videorron 1d ago

Orography related? Something like mountain systems, tunnels or similar?

1

u/Daminica 1d ago

Is it transportation based?

1

u/Meshable123 1d ago

In a very loose way. It's something you would see while driving

1

u/Emotional-Draw4399 1d ago

number of mountains visible on the road

1

u/Emotional-Draw4399 1d ago

number of high speed rail lines?

1

u/UlissRR 1d ago

How many speed limit signals are per road km??

1

u/Shurialvaro 1d ago

Speed cameras per capita?

1

u/08002205050 1d ago

Something related to speed limits? Not in absolute terms, but like different speed limit signs or something like this?

1

u/Meshable123 1d ago

No, not speed limits but another type of sign

1

u/trephyy 1d ago

something traffic light related?

1

u/Ordinary-Trade8323 1d ago

Amount of different alphabets/languages used in signage?

1

u/MortenVajhoj 1d ago

Is it the amount of lines on the crosswalk sign in each country?

1

u/Meshable123 1d ago

Correct! But someone did answer just before you

1

u/Material_Coyote4573 1d ago

Hint 1: Grey (UK) is the least and Gold (Spain) is the most

Hint 2: Grey is 1, Gold is 8

Hint 3: The data is related to something that you could visually see in the modern day.

Hint 4: Something to do with signage

1

u/ComprehensiveBag4028 1d ago

Weird how there's only 1 gold and then also only 1 #2

1

u/Meshable123 1d ago

Yep, it's a very weird map

1

u/Swim_bear 1d ago

Number of official languages?

1

u/Similar-General-2973 1d ago

"Beth yw Cymraeg, Alex."

1

u/Videorron 1d ago

Cultural heritage related?

1

u/PlatypusEgo 22h ago

I like when people do hints on difficult maps but I wish they would allow guesses first (i.e. say in post "hints in 8 hours" or "hint every X hours"). Just seems more fun that way 🤷

I would like to start making these; what tool did you use??

1

u/Meshable123 22h ago

Yeah I did them every twenty minutes maybe a bit too quick. The tool is in the bottom left: mapchart.net
