How is Frolunda HC viewed in Sweden?

Hi! I will be visiting Sweden in a few days and just got tickets to Game 1 of the Frolunda and Timra series. But I am curious, how do Swedish hockey fans view Frolunda. A well liked team? Or a team that everyone who isnt a fan hates? Etc Etc. I make short videos about sports and was planning on doing one about attending the game so any insight into how the club is generally viewed in Sweden would be greatly appreciated. Also if any Frolunda fans here want to weigh in with some interesting facts or other insights about the club that would be greatly appreciated. Tack!

As an uneducated swedish hockey fan can I ask why? Is there a big rivalry between the teams? I do know Joel Lundqvist was one of there best players so did he beat you guys a lot? Thanks!

I am a Frölunda-fan and since Joel Lundqvist was the captain of Frölunda for 20 years, he was well known and established as a hard-working and tough center, which of course also was the person to discuss situations with the reefs. This made other teams(which, of course, is biased to their own teams) fan hate him for "getting his way with the reefs."

Färjestad is the geografically closest team to Frölunda so it's as close to a west-derby we get, and both are well established teams so there is a healthy and respectful rivalry there.

Frölunda has the highest attendance in the league for their games and a great atmosphere in the arena. I hope you enjoy the play-off games!

Not really, Jönköping (HV71) and Ängelholm (Rögle) are both closer geographically. Not even sure Karlstad closer than Växjö. But I suppose we have more in common with karlstad culturally somehow, we both identify as "west coasters" I think, while smålänningar and skåningar have their own identity.

Rögle fan here. All I can think about is how much I hate Malmö. But following this thread to distract me 💚🤍
