There were like 10 points in here when I would have stopped and been like "good enough!"

At so many points I thought "wow thats amazing, oh now you're ruining it!" Now, I understand. Gorgeous

Did he just paint over burl wood??

u/killer_by_design Aug 10 '25

Yeah, ngl the second I saw the burl I was sad it was covered again.

Would have looked incredible just finishing the natural burl.

Lemme just say, if you buy this amazing work of art and then stuff it with Borkum Riff and light with a Bic instead of matches, you will be Drawn and Quartered at dawn.

Thanks for coming to my TedTalk.

There is a tobacconist in my town who sells a proprietary blender called “The Shire”. I feel this would be appropriate.

I like the Lieutenant Dan jacket he was wearing a little bit into the video

The dedication to the process is admirable.

They don’t want you to know this one hack.

That's a traditional way of making a pigment into a permanent paint called 'tempera'

This is more stressful then Bob Ross when he keeps paints giant black thick lines right down the middle of his beautiful painting… then 5 minutes later you’re like “OOOOOooooohhhh it’s a beautiful foreground tree”

If he ever gets bored of doing this he could always bulk up and be a great king fu movie villain.

I mean he could be his kid the resemblance is striking.

Nobody's harassing you to go quickly. Must be nice to craft with no constraints. Artists.

Considering these end up in auction houses, I appreciate the artist's ability and craftsmanship AND one must respect the $500 - $1000 or more prices they may get, but for me, I still can't afford the added cancer causing bonus.

With all the work that’s gone into restoring it, I’d definitely put it on display. Looks amazing.

My favorite thing about this… every delicately tactile thing he’s doing is exactly the same way someone a thousand years ago would have done it. But I bet this guy’s dad once walked into a Blockbuster and rented “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” on VHS.

I had soooo many questions while watching this, all the questions were answered at the end; as they were finishing the pipe. Amazing. I would like more revamps please 🙏

How did ot turn out so colorful in the end?

They put solid layers over each other and even wrapped it completely in gold foil how is it so perfectly showing the layers?

What's it for? Opium?

21

u/SuperTulle Aug 09 '25

Would you believe that people in Asia smoke tobacco too?

1

u/Slavinaitor Aug 10 '25

Not gonna lie, I immediately thought this was for weed.

It’s not any less impressive I just spent the whole video with a cheeky smile thinking about how she took the most heavenly rip from that thing.

Like this whole time I was hyping her up thinking about how she should paint a grinder or something like that so they could have a matching set. Maybe even a plate

That is a man, my friend.

He’s probably too high to notice

Why in the fuck would you smoke tobacco like that? Southern California here. We vape.

4

u/KingsKraft72 Aug 09 '25

Tobacco

1

u/Funny-Cat-8734 29d ago

People still do that? Lol

Are you afghan perhaps? Tobacco smoking is much more popular than poppy smoking in most places.
