... I'm actually impressed with the design of those storm drains. Catchment sieves, huh? Neat!

I almost thought someone was putting a bucket as a make-shift filter lmao

The nice part about those is that you can get stuff that you accidentally dropped out again. My dad and I even rescued a toad out of one of those once by just lifting out the bucket

Seriously I'm in the US like... is this something I could be doing lmao because I fully would love to

Only one way to find out

Too true. Anyone know what those tools would be called?

Without trying to be too much of a jerk... Did you try to figure that out on your own first?

"Grate lifting tool" did not yield the results i sought, no. You dont sound like too much of a jerk, but definitely somewhat of a jerk.

Yeah, that's fine. I'll take somewhat of a jerk. I googled storm drain grate hooks.

I did prepare for a round of muck-digging while the water starts to move faster until the big muck is dug out and the water rushes into the drain but then again it's Germany, so the satisfaction was a bit out-engineered.

Or replaced. It was a different kind of satisfaction. Faster. Like an eruption but the other way round. chchchlop.

Couldn’t that get clogged super quickly though and then just case backup anyway when it really needs water to drain through? I guess if these are cleaned regularly maybe the sewer infrastructure stays cleaner?

I couldn’t help but think of this when I read your comment haha!

For the sake of avoiding future disasters, this guy could really use a traffic cone or two

Nice work, but I've seen him step into an open channel at least three times. The moves are fabulous.

I would have brought gloves.

For a split second I thought he was going to dump it down the hole lol

Got real nervous when he immediately stepped over the open hole he just made by picking up the grate lol

Lovely. He didn't utter a word . Did the job. Nice smile and double thumbs up. Superb.

At first I was waiting for the first car to drench him.

Then I was waiting for the second car to drop a wheel in the hole.

Disappointed twice in one video!

I’ve done for my street. There’s a storm drain between our house and the neighbors to the left and one directly across the street. The fallen leaves will plug up the storm drain so I’d just pick up as much as necessary. It feels good to watch the rain water go down the drain.

That clog has got to be at least great fertilizer. Possibly excellent. Or viciously plant killing mold. Idk. Didn’t pay attention in farm school.

NGL, you're worrying me without at least a vest or a loud hat out there in the street. Please be careful.

Well done sir 🫡

But the trash/leaves were left on the grass next to the drain. Wouldn’t it just flow in again eventually.

u/Arcaydya 19d ago

Brother the video isn't the entire job. He probably cleaned that up before he left.
