The fact that *everything* has a place, and he goes about it in quiet, efficient professionalism, is just *chef kiss*

This made me feel so settled and comforted. Every step is precise and intentional. This level of efficiency is god-tier and what I struggle implement at each process-deficient job I am tortured by. (And torturing others by smacking inefficient hands) 😆

How did no oil come out immediately after he removed the drain plug?

u/Gullible_Shart 11d ago
Why the vacuum as well?
29
u/peetah248 11d ago
The vacuum created a back pressure that kept the oil from flowing out until he pressed a remote to turn off the vacuum

u/Phrongly 10d ago
What was the dark liquid that flowed out of the oil pan though?
3
u/peetah248 10d ago
You mean the oil? I don't see any other liquid

I ma just messing with you, my friend. Maybe it's because my shift just ended, and it's Saturday tomorrow. You have a good one!

I skipped around the video, didn't expect anything special on the oil fill 😅

If you put a shop vac on the fill valve it will pull air when you remove the plug because of the vacuum it is creating. Then turn off the vac and it will dump.

Fellas is it gay to take care of a car without getting dirty
3
u/Jaded_Opposite4689 8d ago
Yes, how else would the other men know I’m a dirty dirty boy and I need help getting washed up after an oil change

u/Olly0206 7d ago
I'm just glad to see someone use gay as an insult in the appropriate context like we did back in the 90s.

u/Lunarlooking 7d ago
It can be, yes, but it depends. How many dicks did you touch while changing the oil and were you aroused by touching them?

Great job. You can actually see him work, Instead of just asking you the money for a job he potentially never did.

I can’t stand those people that insist on getting fucking filthy and making a mess as the only way to be a mechanic. Sure you can splash around in oil like a toddler at a water park, I’ll work smarter.

Every shop I have worked in had at least one person that looks like the jumped into waste oil tank and went swimming 20 minutes into the workday.

The commenter calling it gay just knows they’ll never do anything so well.

That was a beautiful operation. I have just one question.
Did he wipe the red cap before returning to the shelf?
It looked like he just poured the oil, pulled it from the block, and placed it back. 9.93/10
Edit: Ohhh.. he's keeping it juicy for the next one. 10/10

u/kdmendonk 11d ago
You know he's confident in his ability because he wears white sneakers to change oil.

As a technician at a car dealership, the uncompromising precision and logical arrangement of each and every tool in that van fills me with both immense satisfaction and a bitter jealousy. There is absolutely no chance of misplacing a tool or having no idea if you even have the one you're looking for.

Is this what it looks like to have all of the right tools instead of just sending it with what I’ve got?

Biggest rule broken:
If it's not in the hand, then a knife gets folded and goes back in pocket.
Tossing it aside and leaving it there was like nails on chalkboard.
Otherwise, very nice.

Your supposed to use all the fancy tools so you can say, "that'll be $500 please!!!"
