Throw it in a blender with some garlic powder and lemon pepper (maybe even a clove of garlic and/or a little fresh onion) and drizzle in some oil to make it emulsify and turn creamy.

u/goldfool Jul 25 '25
Wait if you had carmalized onions and packed it into the pepper?
2
u/Shark_Attack-A Jul 25 '25
I wouldn’t 🤣… burrito already had some caramelizad onions… probably not enough for onion lovers but defiantly enough that you can taste it

I've been eating tacos and burritos my whole life that way. Hasn't killed me yet. I put 18 hot chilis in my chile verde.

Whatever way this photo is taken it's as if you're eating this while sitting on the toilet. The circle of life.

I had some leftover grilled jalapeños from a batch the other night and I’ve just been slicing it up and tossing it on whatever I’m eating. So good

My parents used to do this with serranos. Bit of salt on the side to dab it in.

u/woodypulp Jul 25 '25
I can't remember if I've done this, but I'm looking and it's hard to imagine I haven't.

u/LeMayo239 Jul 25 '25
I need that burrito recipe!! lol My grandma used to make them for me when I was little but she no longer remembers.

Boiled jalepeños cooled and mostly drained of water + small amount of vegetable oil + salt + blender makes a pretty good topping for tacos/burritos. Don't know if I'd call it a "salsa" since I wouldn't want to just sit and eat it on chips.

I pickup up this habit from a buddy in New Mexico some years ago. Fresh garden jalapeño, just crunch on em with your meal. Of course they’re always a gamble but I love em still.

Yeah I eat tacos like this, it’s great
2
u/Shark_Attack-A Jul 26 '25
For me it’s last resort and only because I think the bite is too fresh.. but toreados 🔥 I’ll eat all day on my tacos

She eats chile de arbol in her sleep. I'm swearing my face off on fire and she and her mom just laugh at me. I thought she was just bragging until I had her mom's cooking. It's the same. Funny thing is her surrounding family doesn't like it as hot. But they can still take it.

Funny story, I was visiting family in Houston, and we went to a Mexican restaurant and they had toasted habaneros, so they bring them out and I grab one and told them it was spicy.. a white girl goes im from Louisiana and we eat spicy so she bites it all and within seconds the girl was very red and sweating nonstop I swear I thought she was going to pass out!!! Anyways jalapeños tickle but are not spicy but then again my mom said I started eating chile even before I could speak… also not uncommon for Mexicans to eat fresh chilies

u/Few-Art8098 Jul 25 '25
Haha no I get it… my digestive tract would literally reject it if I took a bite like that lol … maybe when I was in my 20s… but now???
