Pregonta One week in Sardinia! Help!
My boyfriend and I are going to Sardinia from Sept 7-14.
A little bit about us - we’re going after a week in Rome/Florence and really looking to mostly relax and enjoy. We want to see some beautiful beaches (hikes and boat tour reccos welcome!), love good authentic food (restaurant recs welcome - we eat everything! - and would also like to find a couple farm to table restaurants), and exploring cute towns with cafes, shops, etc. For nightlife, we prefer late romantic dinners and live music over clubbing or bars.
We’re also not looking to spend a ton of money… our Airbnb/hotel budget is around $200-300/night. That said, definitely hoping to stay somewhere nice!
We will be flying into Olbia in the morning on 9/7. Our plan is to rent a car from the airport, and drive straight down to Orosei where we’ll be staying at Albergo Diffuso Mannois for 3 nights (leaving on 9/10).
From there, we’re thinking of staying in one other town further up north. We definitely want to take a day trip to La Maddalena (or should we plan to stay on the island?). Would love some town ideas or affordable hotel/resort ideas in the north.
We’re thinking of then maybe driving to Alghero to spend one day there before flying out on 9/14. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance! Xx

We went there 2 weeks ago and had an amazing time.
You made a good decision to fly into Olbia.
1 day - Do the La Maddalena Archipelago tour (choose a sail boat or a Catamaran)
1 day - Do the Baunei coast. Rent a boat here (dingy) and explore all the important calas. Make Cala Goloritze as your first point. Go as soon as the boat tour rental company opens.
1 or 2 days - Learn how to windsurf in Porto Pollo. I found a lot of joy in learning something new here. You can spend the evening in Porto Cervo (look for a party in Porto Cervo).
1 or 2 days - La Pelosa Beach - What an incredible beach. Do not miss this. I very highly recommend. You will need to book the tickets in advance (or visit there before 8am or after 6pm). It means that you have to drive a bit longer to get there from Olbia. But do it! You can find Michelin starred Agriturismo here not so far away (I cant remember the name) but definitely book in advance and visit. If you have time, also check out Bosa. Do a quick visit. May be buy coral jewelry.
1 - 2 days - While I could not go to San Teodoro/Town of Baunei, I heard good things about it. May be you can bike around here and visit local beaches.
You will not go wrong either way! Enjoy. I already miss being in Sardinia.

Hey, very nice choice of month for Sardinia! And there are so many things to do indeed, I understand the cry for help hahaha. And very good idea to take a ferry and go other places, highly recommend La Maddalena which is full of history and of course has the archipelago national park with some amazing beaches there. We used ferryhopper to book our tickets, super convenient. Extra tip, there is a full guide for food, boats, bars, beaches, historical sites for sardinia and the close-by islands on ferryhopper. We were very satisfied with the suggestions!
As for the stay, we stayed in a camping at the southern part of the island. Since you are travelling by plane, i understand you cannot take a tent and camping materials with you. But maybe you can find affordable tents (even for glamping) in some camping sites. I hope that helps! Enjoy xx

Thank you so much! Would you recommend just a boat tour, or staying on the island for a couple days?

Just a boat tour, because the best of the Maddalena islands is go to see Spargi, Budelli, Santa Maria ecc.. if you stay in the island you won’t see that I mean of course Maddalena is nice, but is just full of tourists and the most beautiful things to see are not there 😩

Stay in Olbia and use it as Hub to make the best daytrips. For airbnb check out rental12. Crazy value for money, dont know how they do it.
Enjoy Sardinia.

If you haven’t stayed in an “agristurismo” or farm stay in Italy, I would highly recommend it. We have traveled all over eat Italy but are going to Sardinia for first time Sept 21-28. Also flying in to Olbia and considering staying at Albergo Diffuso in Orosei. Staying first night in San Teodoro. Will link to place was recommended by a friend.

Highly recommend you go to the main page of this group and type “itinerary” in the search tab. There are a lot of posts in the group looking for itinerary help, and a lot of informative answers from knowledgeable members. You can also type “Maddalena” in the search tab or anything that interest you. And you can compare that information with the replies you receive here.
