Cunversatzione 12 days in Cala Gonone?
Hello guys, we will be staying in Cala Gonone for 12 days this month. We will be renting a car and we have plan to explore the island an to enjoy beautiful beaches. Could you please give us your suggestions from your experience on this island because it's our first time there. Thank you very much in advance.

Orosei is a much better base, has more to offer, and a trip to Cala Gonone doesn't take that long.

Why 12 days in one place? Go to 3 different places, you get bored after 7 days in Gala Ganone.

I would definitely recommend going on a boat tour of the Golfo di Orosei! You go to 3 different beaches like Cala Luna and Cala Mariolu, which are quite difficult to access any other way.

That’s a long time to stay in Cala Gonone. I stayed there in 2022 and we left after 2 and went to Santa Maria Navarese. Which, I liked a lot more because it was less touristy. But, it has more or less the same access to beaches, boating, hiking etc. The hotels were about half of what it was in Cala Gonone. La Maddalena is my favorite spot. As well as the area between olbia and la maddalena. Alghero is amazing as well and has the most beautiful sunset I’ve seen on the island. And Neptunes Grotto is a very unique attraction. Like the other poster said, I would split it up to 3 or 4 days per place. Stuff looks a lot closer on the map than it is when you have to drive there. And even further at the end of the day after you’ve been in the sun and have to drive back… But, there is no shortage of things to do around there. You’ll have a good time no matter what you do. Also, get the full coverage insurance and take a thorough walk through of the car with video and mark every single scratch, dent, scuff etc. Be super petty. Trust me on this one. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound or a kilo of cure. Have a rest trip!
