Cunversatzione Car rental

Hi all,

Me and my boyfriend are going to Sardinia 27 Sept – 3 Oct. We land in Cagliari and will be staying in Villasimius for the week.

We want to rent a car but ideally one that doesn’t need a big deposit. I saw Centauro mention “no deposit required” – has anyone used them and can confirm if that’s true?

Also, if you have any tips or other companies to recommend, I’d really appreciate it! First time renting in Sardinia so not sure what to expect.

Just stay way off Noleggiare. They charged me up for an additional driver which I never requested and am still trying to get my money back. I didn’t return the car yet so I will shall see if they find anything else to charge me on.

One more thing: they needed to charge me only 892 euros because I already paid 200 euro as pre payment but when I received the car I had to pay the full price 1100 euros. They steal money where they can

We used Avis and it was great. No monkey business worked the same as in the US.

Locauto was great.  Rented a car at the Cagliari airport.  Not sure about their deposit policy.  But they were one of the few, if only that let me put my kids on the policy. My daughter was under 21.  Great company.  I’m going back to italy soon and will rent from them again.

We used hertz. We were there 8/29-9/5 of this year. No issues. Straight forward. Didn’t overly check the car when we returned it (Cagliari)

Hello, We rented from Hertz few weeks ago in Cagliari city office, all went well. Book the car on Booking com, no insurance and buy the SuperCover at the counter for full coverage ,the minimum is 5 days rental for some reason. If you take the train from the airport, 1 stop Euro 1,30, to the Cagliari station you will find Hertz city location (same rental is more than EUR 100 less) Piazza Giacomo Matteotti, 1, 09123 Cagliari. On my credit card they hold EUR 200 as a deposit. If you arrive late, or you choose the airport location Hertz or Sicily by Car is highly recommended. American Express credit card and even Revolut Metal plan helps you to reduce excess cover. Feel free to ask.
