It’s just people wishing, hoping, and praying for his return because they like him so much. There is an absolutely minuscule chance he actually returns because in the Nightmare he said that if Sunny and Co didn’t show up he would have made a deal with Weaver. Since in the original history Sunny and Co didn’t exist, in the true history of the Dream Realm Noctis must have made a deal with Weaver, possibly putting him as one of the main people in charge of cultivating the Nightmare Spell. Also, since his knife was still around and it still had his death inside that means he couldn’t have died.

In my opinion I think there is no way G3 had any intention of bringing him back, but the fans love him so much that MAYBE he will put him back in (a version of him at least) to appease us since it technically wouldn’t break cannon if Weaver preserved him as part of whatever deal he struck.

I doubt he is going to do this…but I’m not gonna be upset if he does. Noctis was a great character so I’m fine with G3 bending logic a bit to make him relevant again.

Okay but the thing is, if he didn't die the first time round then we better offer our Hail Mary's for Sunny and Co. cuz they literally gave away the only thing that could kill him

If in orginal timeline Noctis became nightmare priest or helped Waver in spreading Spell i think we may see him in 5th nightmare.

Thing is, the theory really gained traction when Sunny acquired Ananke’s Mantle and read its enchantments, and one of its descriptions was something along the lines of the color black being too boring, which is what Noctis said to Sunny back in the 2nd Nightmare. And since we know Weaver’s priests can also use Weaving, and Noctis made a deal with Weaver. The dots really do connect. Its just up to G3 whether he wants Noctis to make a comeback or not, like the groundwork is already built for his return

Um, no. A lot of readers, including me, believe that he's still alive. Proofs are: his dagger was unused, the familiar tone of his on Ananke's mantle, him having a deal with Weaver and the existence of the elusive priests of the Spell.

Now for my one reason, the moons have been depicted as abnormal throughout the realms, War God's realm Earth's Moon from the start, Bastion's moon, Chained Isles Moon relating to him. We know that Noctis is closely related to the moon, so there should be something in the future better him and those celestial satellites

While I agree, I would be remiss if I didn't point out that the Knife in question was created by a Divine, and the following Doom War was about to have 13 of these guys running around killing. We know so little about it's mechanism... can it be overruled by another Divine?

That is possible, but they didn't know what weaver was doing before it was too late, so there's a tiny chance that they'd notice the dagger-fate thing since there were assumed to be only 2 left, and these were attached to 2 Transcended. Or they noticed but didn't have enough attention because of the war

I'll also mention that one other of the Chain Lords survived to modern times (Solvane, for given values of the word 'survived'). A little more evidence that you're correct.

Unaccounted for also is the 'One in the North' - knife also survived to modern times. But considering what happened to geography, we have no idea where they are.

Remember the description in ananke mantle? [Why does it have to be black?] Now, who was about to make a deal with weaver before sunny showed up? (and most likely did in the actual events of the kingdom of hope considering the nightmares are just a recreation of the past) Noctis said that he would've had to pay a terrible price to get the secret on how to kill the chain lords.

That price is most likely his freedom, weaver most likely made him into one of the weavers (these who practice weaving), and is probably the second person with weaver's mask.

And I can even go as far as to say weaver has important plans regarding noctis role, and he will most likely meet sunny again but he won't be the Noctis sunny knew in the nightmare, it'll be a thousand of years older noctis who's probably gone mad because of whatever weaver planned to keep him alive that long and he won't recognize sunny considering he doesn't know him.

That or he would come back as a corrupted.

Noctis must likely made the deal with weaver and was the one to creat the mantle ananke had that she inherited from her mother who was a priest of the spell.

So yes, there's genuine evidence that he could be alive

It’s just my teeny weeny head-canon that noctis is alive :3

Noctis did make a deal with weaver

I’ve always had a glimmer of hope in the back of my head that we would see Noctis again, as we never had any confirmation that he died and if anything hints that he’s still alive.

Noctis WILL come back, I’m certain of it

It’s a theory that does hold SOME merit outside of the pure cope, especially when considering there’s an Unholy on the Moon when we know Noctis power is at its greatest when the moon is out

I’ll be the first to admit it’s absolutely cope. But man would it be cool.

u/slimSlayin 1d ago

His dagger still exists

u/Sufficient-Pause-837 1d ago

Yeah and there was that whole thing he said about weaver offering him a deal or having to a deal with weaver or something to that effect. Would be so awesome to my goat come back.

Tbh i think his corpse is the corpse in forgotten shore we know in the second nightmare before sunny came he was going to go to weaver for help and that weaver would give him some horrible task likely do i figure weaver made him one of the high priests of the spell which is why he had the mask no clue why hed be chained up tho maybe just a weaver giving sunny something cool moment

u/adel129 22h ago

Realistically he's never coming back however if you go lore wise the knife that's supposed to be the only why of killing him was still there and as we saw solvaine was still alive too so he is still alive but this has a loophole because the only thing holding his immortality was gone in the 2nd nightmare so what will happen now? Is he immortal with no way of killing him ? Or because it was used he is a mortal now ?

Because asterion has been living on the moon and maybe we get a connection to noctis when sunny or so meets him

1

u/lazzy_om 20h ago

He has affinity to moon, what if the Unholy being on moon turns out to be Noctis in his corrupted form?

Kinda off topic, I'm in antartica arc right now, i have heard that the story drops its quality far later, is it true? If it is then how bad

1

u/PitifulRestaurant959 17h ago

Does ss drop in quality later in the novel? I'm currently in starting of antartica, if so how bad is it

Because it is easy intrigue story wise, you don't have to ham up anything. It's more of hoping it will happen than believing it will. And it would be the real first opportunity to see if the real people that were used in a Nightmare somehow remember anything from it. And people like Noctis, but there is no way he hasn't become some sort of monster by this point.
