Or globally. They don't realize only 10%-16% of the global population is "white". That's with some estimates even lower (below 10%).

you don’t have to say "white" like it’s not real. White is real. And it’s a proper noun.

The concept of white being all pale Europeans is a relatively recent concept. It used to be just the English (and Scots, sometimes) were “white”. 

Irish were excluded from that list, as well as Welsh, Italians, and Slavs.

By recent you mean since the 1700s?

That doesn’t invalidate the identity, anyway.

Irish were considered separate from “the white race” well into the early 20th century.

And yes, 1700s is recent compared to the many thousands of years of tribalism.
