I've seen people unironically argue that manual transmission cars are dangerous to drive, because the coordination required for 2 feet, a wheel and a stick are too much for the human mind. On that note, I have known people that were incapable of learning such basic facts as "always push the clutch when you stop." Even after a month of instruction, they stalled frequently because they couldn't remember to push the clutch while braking. There are very stupid people in the world.

That's why I call it my anti-theft device.

To be fair, It's become completely normalized by society to be a bad driver. I mean the average American is driving around in cars with things like blind spot monitoring, 360 degree cameras, auto lane change, auto braking, etc. And people are still constantly crashing and killing eachother because drivers training in the US is a joke that teaches people how not to die instead of how to actually be a good driver.

It doesn't help that police would rather pull me over for having tinted windows, an exhaust slightly too loud, or going slightly over the speed limit. Meanwhile Karen is driving down the road playing Candy Crush and Grandpa Jack is driving home reading the newspaper, and nobody does anything about it until they cause an accident.

I don't even really blame them either. If I didn't grow up with a dad that was into cars and motorcycles, I'd probably be the same way. Because I sure as hell wasn't taught half the stuff i know about driving from driving school.

Does this include the 65-year-old guys with wizard beards riding recumbant bikes?
