As a country, we're something like 36 trillion in debt and we keep giving tax breaks to the rich.

Somehow, tax revenues increase when we cut taxes, but the deficit goes up more than the revenue generated. Some people are apparently too stupid to realize it's a spending problem. But most are just lying about pretending to not understand it's a spending problem.

We're seeing a lot of the worse aspects of nationalism coming from the average self-professed socialist these days imo. You could even go as far as to say we're beginning to see a rise in nationalistic socialism
