Might have to try re-drawing this one later. Don’t think it’s there yet 🤣. I haven’t been to Disneyland for decades but it seems like it might be lot more fun.

Weather cleared up, so back outside sketching on vacation. This is in Ikebukuro (Tokyo).
Everyone in Japan completely ignores me so I’ve been feeling pretty brave sketching in really busy spots. The train station is a 2 min walk from here and is one of the busiest in Japan. Almost 3 million people per day, which blows my mind.

I watched the remastered version of Steamboat Willie on YouTube, and stopped the video where Minnie was running for the steamboat.
It's, fineliner, paint pen and alcohol marker.

Moneybags Mickey! Love this concept, and I also think of those things when I think of Disney. I don't think fun: I think "outsized cultural impact" and "sanitization of fairy tales to push a misogynistic, patriarchal worldview" and "money money money".

Warwick and I watched a show called Gravity Falls, and Disney removed all hints of anything LGBT... To be fair it was 9 years ago

Spanish civil war made me think of George Orwell, especially after reading Wifedom recently. The typewriter featured heavily so here we are.
